Two-week countdown until the Whitefish premiere of Teton Gravity Research's newest film Beyond The Fantasy. Hosted by our two hometown athletes Parkin Costain and Maggie Voisin

Come join the action on Thursday October 3rd, downtown Whitefish at the O'Shaughnessy Center. Scott Free Ski is covering the tab on the first 100 drinks, so make sure to get there early. There will be poster signings by Parkin, Maggie, and other TGR athletes. Along with epic raffle giveaways, and short films leading the main show!

September 8th, 2024, was the last day that a vehicle reservation was required to enter Glacier National Park 🏕 This includes reservations for Going-to-the-Sun Road via the West Entrance, the North Fork, and Many Glacier. While visitors are no longer required to obtain a vehicle reservation before entering Glacier National Park, an entrance pass is still required. For more information, visit the link in our bio. September is "Bear Aware" month in Montana as bear activity increases. will host several educational events featuring activities, prizes, and giveaways.

Bear Encounter Tips!
* Never run away. You cannot outrun a bear. Running may trigger a bear to chase.
*Never approach the bear
*Different situations call for different responses.
👉 If you see a bear at a distance, the bear appears unaware of you and you can move away undetected, do so quietly when the bear is not looking toward you.
👉 If you cannot avoid a bear that sees you, stand your ground and watch its behavior. Move away when it disengages.

Stewardship is a big part of the role here at Explore Whitefish, and we have chosen to support and take care of our workforce here in Whitefish. As one of the most desirable destinations on the planet, it's no secret that Whitefish struggles with affordable workforce housing, and we are so proud of our visitors, residents, and member community who embrace our Community Support Fund. Together, we have raised over $300,000 for Housing Whitefish and their work to build solutions to affordable housing!

Our final Friend of the Fish Pledge point and the one that ties it all together. When you explore Whitefish, whether in the wild or downtown, we ask that you pledge to “Leave No Trace.” Plan ahead and prepare, travel and camp on durable surfaces, pick up after yourself and others, leave what you find, minimize campfire impacts, respect wildlife, and be considerate of other people.

With everything happening in Whitefish, it’s easy to get lost in the excitement, move too quickly, and forget to stop and smell the roses (or Bitterroots, Montana’s state flower.) Glacier National Park Announcement - Going to the Sun Road opened to vehicles this morning! Enjoy the ride!

Going-to-the-Sun Road officially opened this morning for the 2024 summer season. The road may now be accessed by motorized vehicles over Logan Pass from both the West Glacier and St. Mary entrances.

As a reminder, vehicle reservations are not required at the East Entrance in 2024. St. Mary provides access to Going-to-the-Sun Road driving east to west. Please note that visitors who enter from the east side will not be able to return through the Apgar Check Point without a vehicle reservation between 6 am and 3 pm.

Vehicle reservations are needed when accessing Going-to-the-Sun Road from West Entrances. Visitors will have access to the Apgar Visitor Center and park shuttles. Daily shuttle service begins July 1.
