Did you know that our harbor front has been getting some upgrades? Our walking tour conveniently ends along the sidewalk in front of some great local businesses. Grab food, a drink, or some Alaskan made products and enjoy a lovely view of the harbor and Passage Canal.

“What should I wear for my trip to Whittier?” It’s a valid question, and one we get often. Whittier is in a rainforest, so rain & mist are quite common. The best way to be prepared in Alaska is to LAYER. Good shoes to keep your feet dry, sunglasses (for both sun and wind), a hat, and a rain jacket or poncho are always a good idea, too!

Most Alaskans will tell you it’s been a rather rainy summer. The GOOD news is—rain in Whittier causes the waterfalls and creeks to rush, brings out the blue in the glacier ice, and and creates soothing ASMR moments in the rainforest. This area is great to explore, rain or shine 🌧☀️🌲🏔
