Definitely putting this on our must do list!

Put this waterfall on your fall must-see list! Mingo Falls is located just outside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. At 120 feet tall, the waterfall is one of the tallest and most spectacular in the southern Appalachians. The hike to the waterfall is only 0.4 miles in length, but starts off with approximately 160 steps. To get to the trailhead, take US-441 to Big Cove Road in Cherokee. At the first stop sign turn left and drive 4.5 miles to Mingo Falls Campground, where the trail begins.

Get Ready to Relax!

Hello! We are The Gabels, and we’d like to welcome you to our little slice of heaven we call Eagles Nest at Capodimonte.

When we first experienced the beauty of Western North Carolina, we knew that we wanted a cabin to call our own...one where we could make lots of family memories and get away from our busy lives at home in Florida.

So we decided to hunt for a vacation home in the Smoky’s and found this gorgeous property. It was love at first sight! We’ve stayed here so many times that we got to a point where we were like “More people have to experience this place!” And so began our quest to renovate the property and turn it into a vacation rental with three separate units, which can be joined if you like.

Eagles Nest at Capodimonte has a big beautiful house we call the Eagles Lodge, that sleeps up to 10 people. It has two bedrooms, one with a king-size and the other with a queen sized bed. Then it has an upstairs loft with a set of bunk beds with a twin on top and full mattress on the bottom. So there’s plenty of space for your family and friends.
