My job is more than a job to me...

This past week my hubby and I took a road trip to South Dakota to spend time with family and for a change of scenery. To me vacations are essential for mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Travel is about reconnecting, finding yourself, laughing with a stranger, and witnessing a sunset or sunrise in a new place.

So take a weekend or a few days away for rest and relaxation, and self-care. You will come back to your responsibilities with renewed energy and focus. And for me, new perspective igniting my creativity and re-energizing my soul. ☺️

Story 2 💚
An older gentleman came into the office to ask about travel to France with his sister. After some time asking questions and recommendations he's decided on the Paris & Normandy cruise with AmaWaterways. The perfect stress-free choice, they will be well taken care of while enjoying an amazing experience. 🛥️
This will be their first time to Europe and I'll be guiding them every step of the way!

But there was much more than business talk -
Our conversation turned into a story about love and dedication as he told me of his wife of 54 years and how they packed up and hit the road when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, exploring the places they had visited before one last time.

She's passed, but his continued support for others living with the disease shows how deeply he cares and how meaningful those experiences are for him. 🥰

This is just one connection out of so many I've made, but it's a reminder of the human stories that travel can inspire.

I had the best day yesterday I wanted to share.💚
2 stories, each different. Here's the first- I'll post the 2nd tomorrow.

I had my pre-travel meeting with my clients who are departing for Vietnam and Cambodia, Riches of the Mekong. He served in the Vietnam War and has returned twice with other veterans (special group) to find the places they were so long ago, story tell, make friends with people in the villages, and to honor those that were lost. This will be his wife's first visit and with AmaWaterways they will surely experience the area in a whole new way and together!

We also talked about the book I'm listening to "The Women" by Kristin Hannah. It takes you to the Vietnam War and the story of a combat nurse- it's moving and powerful, check it out.📔
Between the stories he has shared and this book I'm inspired to go visit one day!

Tales from a Travel Advisor💚
I've been planning travel for a long time, off and on for 30 years and worked at Village Travel for almost 13 years. Every day is different, some are fantastic while some can be challenging, and some 😱🤪😆!

I put a lot of care into each thoughtfully planned itinerary. It's sort of like an artist creating a painting. 🎨👩‍🎨 I start with visiting with people to create a vision.
