ding an excellent, safe swimming area. The Hut is for rent on a weekly basis in summer for $2100/week tax included. Saturday check-in/check out is preferred, but we will do our best to accommodate your schedule. Off-season rates are negotiable and we will consider renting for weekends or any other periods of time. The Hut is located on Big Hills Lake in Waushara County, Wisconsin near the towns of Wild Rose, Mt. Morris, Saxville and Wautoma. We provide camp fire wood, 2 canoes and wireless internet service in and near the building. There is a dock extending into the lake. There are several beautiful golf courses in the area, a frisbee golf course, Nordic Mountain Ski/Snowboard Hill, many public trout streams, snowmobile trails and area attractions and restaurants. The Hut is also 27 miles from Lake Poygan/and the Fox River system. We also offer free access to near-by 40 acres of camping, ATV trails and a private target shooting range.

Prime Summertime lodging available for guests interested in staying more than 1week. Time including the 4th of July and Labor Day Weekend has opened up for guests wanting to stay more the the traditional 7 summer days.

Brackets of time from June 24th through July 13th and August 27th through September 10th have become available. We are seeking groups that wish an extended visit ti Big Hills Lake.

1st & days $2100 (our regular summer rate), additional days $150/day 1st three days, and $100/day beyond that. The Hut can not be sublet and guests must be listed on the rental contract.. Beyond that we are open to negotiations.

We know it’s late to be planning a summer vacation, a decision to rent those time brackets or portions of them will be made by Friday, May 27th. Thank you for considering staying in The Hut on Big Hills Lake, Waushara County, Wisconsin.

The end of an Era: At 11:11 today the dropping of the dead beach pines onto frozen Big Hills Lake will begin.

Victims of 4 years if high water, they need to come down when the lake is frozen.

It’s gonna’ look different with some open sky there. We’ve been looking at those pines our whole lives around here.

There’s going to be an impressive pile of wood for beach camp fires, I’m trying to look at the bright side.

Lakeside cabin for rent in sandy Waushara County in central Wisconsin. The Hut is a 4-bedroom log home built in 1996 on the former site of a small Red Cottage which overlooked Big Hills Lake since the 1940's Below the Hut used to be a 100 feet of sandy beach sinking gently into the lake providing an excellent, safe swimming area. However do to high water we haven’t seen our beach for several years in a row. Boating on the lake has been limited to No-Wake status since last summer and for the foreseeable future because some lake homes have been been damaged by water. The Hut is for rent on a weekly basis in summer for $2150/week. Saturday check-in/check out is preferred, but we will do our best to accommodate your schedule. Off-season rates are negotiable and we will consider renting for other periods of time. The Hut is located on Big Hills Lake in Waushara County, Wisconsin near the towns of Wild Rose, Mt. Morris, Saxville and Wautoma. We provide camp fire wood, wireless internet service, two canoes and floatation vests. There are several beautiful golf courses in the area. Nordic Mountain Ski/Snowboard Hill is about 5 miles away. There are many public trout streams and other lands, snowmobile trails and area attractions and restaurants. The Hut is also 27 miles from Lake Poygan/and the Fox River system. We can also offer access to near-by 40 acres of camping, ATV trails a private target shooting range and as much extra fire wood as you’d care to haul.
