THANK YOU!

My father and I went into business together in January of 2012. What an amazing journey it has been! We were able to explore the middle peninsula and much of coastal Virginia together and spend more time together than most families are lucky enough to experience. We were blessed to be able to share our knowledge of our most loved places and activities with thousands of guests. We’ve learned so much along the way and can’t express our gratitude enough. To our many varied customers and our partners – businesses, local governments, non-profits, public and private schools – for their continued support and loads of smiles over the years. We’ve made a lot of friends and so many treasured memories.

Captain Alan Alexander continues serving water-lovers along the Atlantic with Chesapeake Yacht Services LLC, offering yacht delivery, boating instruction, and yacht management services. Shannon Alexander works as the Coastal Region Steward with the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation in the Division of Natural Heritage, helping protect and teach visitors about some of coastal Virginia’s rarest species and natural communities.

Lucky for you all, one of our long-time and much-loved guides, Jackie Craven, is continuing the legacy of offering paddling adventures! She and her husband, Mike, based in Gloucester County, are excited to announce Craven Expeditions. Craven Expeditions will offer many of the same kayak tours around the Middle Peninsula that Bay Country Kayaking did and bring years of experience and so much enthusiasm about the plants and animals (and fungi!) that folks encounter along their tours.

This has become my perennial post for a reason. It expresses my feelings so succinctly that I feel no need to change anything other than the year:

On Veterans Day 2023, I am very proud of my Father, Brother, Uncles, Cousins, and most recently, my Nephew, for their selfless Service to our Nation.

I am very grateful to all of my Brothers and Sisters-in-Arms from all branches, those living and those whose watch has ended, for offering their all to preserve our Constitution, borders, allies and citizens.

I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to become part of this fraternity called United States Veterans.

John 15:13 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." !

We still have space available for paddlers on our excursion, tomorrow! 6/13 We will meet at the launch at 5:30 PM for a lovely paddle into the sunset.

There is also availability on Sunday 6/18(Father's Day) at 9 AM tour for all you early birds!
