One of our favorite discoveries last week in Lake Lure. The Rainbow Bridge was covered with collars and mementos of pets that have crossed over. It was a beautiful place of reflection and comfort.

Continuing to follow our cruisers in Alaska… Next stop was Juneau with Whale-watching, Nugget Falls, Mendenhall Glacier, and a salmon feast at Orca Point Lodge. Day 5 explored Skagway, known for the Klondike Gold rush, with lunch at the Red Onion, and a ride on the White Pass Train.

Day Two of our travelers in Alaska! A self-excursion from Anchorage to Denali, National Park, and a 6 mile hike of the Mount Haley Overlook Trail. That’s an ambitious day, but these two are making the most of every hour there.

The best time to visit Alaska is from mid June through mid August, with June being the driest month. Fun fact: Alaska is vast and with the limited road system, it is common for residents to use Bush Aircraft to get around…that’s why there is an average of one airplane for every 60 people who live in Alaska .

Let’s travel Alaska! We will follow these savvy travelers who will be boarding Radiance of the Seas, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, for a seven day southbound cruise. Yesterday they landed in Anchorage, and transferred to their hotel on the lake, which provides free shuttle service to the airport, city center and train—which provides transportation to the interior or the cruise port.
