Tranquil Vista is a four-bedroom, fully-equipped vacation rental home that sleeps 6, and sits on 10 acres of the Texas Hill Country, making it the ideal escape from the stresses of today’s busy lives. It features a 270-degree, 20-mile view of the Blanco river valley. The swimming pool features a tanning shelf and a bench that runs the entire east side of the pool, making it a perfect place for wat

ching the sunset. And the house is 100% football-ready, featuring two stacked 50” HDTV’s powered by DirecTV and WiFi. Tranquil Vista sleeps 6 and features a master bedroom with a king-sized bed and an en-suite bathroom featuring a whirlpool tub and separate shower. The three remaining rooms share a second bathroom and feature a queen-sized bed, a double bed, and two twins beds. A fully equipped kitchen and a gas grill make food prep easy. WiFi internet makes it easy to catch up on that last work e-mail (if you really can’t leave it behind), check the weather and sunset time, and, of course, fantasy football standings. There’s even a Playstation 3 on which the kids can play games or watch DVDs (also check the selection of movies saved on the DVR). All that said, our recommendation is to turn off the electronics and enjoy the quiet solitude you’ll achieve peering out at the star-filled sky. The house is an easy, < 30-minute drive from Wimberley, Blanco, or Dripping Springs and only about an hour from downtown Austin. In a world where everything is coming a little too fast, a short stay at Tranquil Vista will help push the reset button and re-energize you for what lies ahead. Amenities:

No matter how often I take a picture to capture the feeling this view affords me, the pictures never do it justice. Saturday morning, fog blanketed the view, and then, like a magic trick, the sun shone through and illuminated the sky. When are you coming for a visit?

RESOLVED (see update 2 below): I want to apologize to the guests who have dealt with a flakey Starlink internet setup. Starlink is amazing when it's working (wildly faster than the radio tower internet which used to be our only option). But when Starlink is down, it's sort of a blackhole -- you submit a trouble ticket and wait for someone to respond (there's no phone number). We are in the queue, and as soon as it's back we'll update. In the meantime, you can stream from your phone to the Google TVs in the house or use your phone as a hotspot.

Of course, we recommend just unplugging and enjoying the quiet solitude and beauty of the place. You'd be amazing at the data you get from a staring up at a star-filled night. When are you coming for a visit?

We enjoyed a few days at the house over the 4th of July. It's easy for us to get sucked into maintenance tasks like fixing a light fixture, addressing a leaky hose bib, replacing the wood in the expansion joint by the front door, replacing a missing bed skirt, etcetera and miss the purpose Tranquil Vista is built to do -- give you time to relax, catch your breath, and spend time with those you love. Thankfully we did find time to reset our registers. We hope you can find time too for you, your family, and all those you love. When are you coming for a visit?

As the Summer hits full power and the heat makes you question your life choices, the pool at Tranquil Vista is a great place to contemplate your future. Whether it's a refreshing splash or the perfect place to watch the sunset from the bench on the East side of the pool, it's a pretty miraculous space in which to unwind. When are you coming for a visit?

It would seem that when the toilet in the hall bathroom was removed and reinstalled when the new tile floor was put down, the folks who performed the work didn't but a new wax ring down or caulk around the edge of the toilet. With that work now completed properly, we are hopeful that the mystery of the swamp gas is resolved once & for all. Thanks for your patience while we figured it out, and thanks to Blanco AC, Electrical, and Plumbing for finding the fix.
