TRAVELING WITHOUT BREAKING THE FAMILY BANK

Are you terrified that you are going to break the bank on your first family vacation to the Carribean after the travel ban is lifted? If so, I would like to share 7 simple tips with you to help you budget for that vacation your entire family is going to remember for a lifetime.

1. Start budgeting for your vacation as far in advance as possible. Many people plan a vacation at the last minute and are disappointed when they return home and have no money due to lack of proper planning on their part.

2. Put away the plastic! Use cash when you make purchases. Credit card debt adds up and can get you into heavy debt - out of sight equals out of mind!

3. Give yourself a weekly spending allowance for gas to get work, groceries, child school activities and after school activities. When the money runs out it runs out! Don't spend anymore and don't sacrifice what you want now for what you want later.

4. Open a savings account at the bank specifically for your trip if you have problems spending. Tuck away 50-100 dollars every time you get paid. If you don't see the money your are putting away, ten to one you won't miss it. Watch how quickly it adds up!

5. Don't buy items that aren't necessities - if you don't need it don't buy it!!

6. Eat at home instead of eating out. If you have a large family eating out becomes expensive quickly. Save that money for meals you can enjoy as a family on vacation.

7. Be willing to buy non-brand items for everyday things that your family does need. Most off-brand items are much cheaper than name brand items and can save you a lot of money. Does it really matter if your paper plates are Chinette or Great Value brand?

Imagine all the things you and your family are going to be able to do and see saving all this money. Now you can take that dream Carribean vacation after the travel ban is lifted and have an AMAZING time without breaking the bank and running out of money before running out of vacation days.

5 Ways to Vacation At Home!!!!

Does all of this Corona jive have you feeling down? If you had a long anticipated vacation planned and have had to cancel, you probably are feeling down in the dumps but there is always a rainbow after a thunderstorm and just like the thunder we are weathering now, we will see our rainbow again !! In the interim, here are 5 ways to vacation - AT HOME!!

1. Order some movies online about the destination where you were supposed to be vacationing and watch them together as a family - this will make the trip so much more exciting when you can travel again and you will look super cool with everything you already know about your destination in comparison to other tourists you run into !!

2. Make up questions or surf the internet and find out as much as you can about your future travel destination and play travel trivia with your family - I can say firsthand that I recently played Disney Trivia by hosting a Facebook Live Event - though I was initially hesitant about the outcome, it turned out to be very successful and I plan to do it again very soon to contribute to families and small children and adults during these trying times - and of course to promote my travel business when this crazy virus has has been snuffed out and we can all travel again!!

3. If you have small children who were disappointed that their family vacation was cancelled, play family charades - let every member of the family dress up like something they were really looking forward to on the trip while the rest of the family figures out what the charade is - this will make your vacation even more fun when you can actually go.

4. Talk about all the fun activities you plan to do as a family when the time comes and let everyone air their disappointments openly and honestly about the canceled vacation - getting in touch with everyone’s feelings is critical to helping keep each other uplifted!

5. Finally, make a special meal for dinner that is part of the culture or community where you will be traveling when the big day arrives!!!

These might be small ideas, but a little goes a long way to create forever family memories!!!

Hi everyone!! I’m reaching out to all of you NOT TO SELL YOU ANYTHING ...... but to see if there are any of you who need anything given the current state of things!!! Regardless of what it is, I’d love to help !!! I’m sure some of you are starting to feel over “quarantined” with the kids, family etc!! Everyone being locked in together going nuts!!

One of the questions I continue to see posted on various social platforms is what to do on vacation here in the US from people who have ditched their international travel plans due to the recent health scare.

For those vacationing with small children, there are still many great options you can choose from. If you’ve never taken the kiddos to see the mouse, consider Walt Disney World or Universal Studios.

Disney Cruises are also another great vacation option. Disney Cruises can be taken here in the US and don’t always have to leave the country. Other great options for vacation include outdoors travel; i.e. camping or cabin living and hiking 🥾 or skiing ⛷. Don’t ditch your travel plans without checking into other family-friendly activities that will keep your family just as entertained as anything you planned to do on vacation outside of the border.
