My son is going off to college this week so we went to Epcot for one more ride on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. (It is my FAVORITE ride in all of Orlando. You can’t help but smile on it!) 🎢😀

After the ride, we hopped on the app to see if we could snag a last minute reservation. Beaches N Cream Soda Shop was available! First, this is located between Disney’s Beach Club and Disney’s Yacht Club. The menu isn’t huge but typically everyone can find something they enjoy - plus there is ice cream. I also ordered the Mini Mickey Sink for our dessert. It isn’t on the menu but ask for it if interested. It’s the perfect size to share but not overwhelming like a regular kitchen sink. (Plus, you get to keep the Mickey or Minnie sink afterwards.).

I am including some pics of Disney’s Beach Club. This resort is located right next to Epcot so it is perfect to walk into Epcot using the back entrance by England. You can also take a boat to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I think it is such a beautiful resort and I love the feel. We have stayed here numerous times and I love it!

I’m home from touring Celebrity Reflection and a bit sad I couldn’t sail away with the guests onboard. 🛳️. This ship is currently sailing in the Caribbean out of Fort Lauderdale.

Celebrity Cruise has 17 ships that sail all around the world - to over 300 destinations. Celebrity has combined the intimate boutique like feeling of smaller ships with the activities and amenities of larger ships. I spent the day exploring all that the Celebrity Reflection offers and can’t recommend it enough.

We started today visiting an interior room. I was really pleasantly surprised with how spacious it felt. (Pictured below). We visited a variety of different rooms and suites. They went in depth with the various amenities offered with suites. They have thought of everything! Afterwards, we toured all the public areas on the ship. My favorite was the Lawn Space on the top deck. We were told that on certain nights, they play movies on the lawn for kids traveling on the ship and even have little tents for them to lay under. (Celebrity Cruise Line is for all ages, however, you will have fewer children than other cruise lines. They have kids programming as well but on a smaller scale.).

✉️ One of my favorite stops in the Galapagos Islands was on Floreana - at Post Office Bay.

The Galapagos Islands were a natural stopping point for whalers, since they could pick up water and food. The whalers were often homesick, but they didn’t have a way to communicate with their loved ones.

🖊️ They created a plan - they left letters in a certain place on Floreana, and when passing ships stopped there on their way back to England, the USA or wherever their home port was, they would pick up all the letters destined for that place and deliver them. The place on Floreana where the letters were left became known as Post Office Bay.

The most amazing part is that the system is still working! Every year, thousands of Galapagos visitors drop off letters and postcards in Post Office Bay. Other visitors that live close to an addressee will pick up the letters and take them home.
⭐️ The biggest rule was that you can only take postcards that you can hand deliver - putting a stamp on them isn’t an option!

🏠 I found a post card to deliver and looking forward to someone returning mine!

So many animals! One unique fact about the Galápagos Islands is that the islands are so protected that no one can just walk around certain areas without a guide. Since people aren’t allowed to travel in certain areas, the animals don’t feel threatened by humans so you can get up close and personal with them!

When I say the service is outstanding on this cruise it is seriously top of the line luxury service.

🛎️ Everyday there are morning excursions and afternoon excursions. Each time you get off the zodiac after the excursion to come back on the ship you are greeted by the crew, given a hot or cold towel to wipe your hands/face/neck with, and then shown upstairs were a small snack (sandwiches, dessert bites, homemade nachos) and refreshing drinks are waiting for you with live music playing. Every single detail of this cruise is truly unique and all the small meticulous details are carefully thought out!

🦎 Iguanas! Yesterday we were able to see both land and marine iguanas. The yellow iguanas are the land iguanas and the black are the marine iguanas.

This was probably one of my favorite stops as I found them fascinating to watch and some of them were HUGE! The one constant at every stop is that the wildlife is not afraid. We keep about 6 feet from them they pay no attention to us. I love watching them in their natural habitat.

🌅 The couple who is staying in the presidential suite on the ship are simply amazing people. We’ve been hanging out with them and another couple from day 1 and they have made this trip everything that it has been. Tonight we have been invited to enjoy a private cocktail party and dinner tonight in their room.

The memories that I have made on this trip and the people that I have made them with have been nothing short of making this bucket list trip completely overflow with gratitude 🩷🩷🩷

I’ve had some messages asking for more pictures of our ship so wanted to share these. We have met friends staying in the Presidential Suite and also sharing some from their room.

Fun facts:

*100 guests can sail on this ship
*All rooms are suites and either have a verandah or infinite balcony. Each room can sleep 2.
*Your snorkeling gear, hiking stick, wet suite, binoculars and life jacket are all included to use. You also are given a backpack and water bottle.
*Almost a 1:1 ratio between crew and guests.
*This ship started sailing in 2019.
*All rooms have a drinking water purification system to use to fill your water bottle.
*The Celebrity Flora was designed specifically to sail in the Galápagos Islands.
*Majority of the crew are from the Galapagos and able to answer questions about the islands.

🐧 🐢 🌋 Every evening we are given choices for our excursions the next day. (All your excursions are included). The naturalists explain each option in detail so you know what to expect as you decide.

Yesterday, we did another tender ride as they said we could probably see more penguins. (I’m obsessed with the penguins. They are only about 18 inches in length). We also saw lots of turtles, a sting ray and blue footed bo***es, crabs and where the penguins nest. We went along the coast and could see how the lava flowed into the water over 100 years ago. After our tender ride, we did a short walk over a lava field (as opposed to the longer walk some guests chose without the tender ride.). The lava field was incredible to see. Our naturalist pointed out lots of interesting things along the way.

There are approximately 9 or 10 naturalists onboard with us. They are all originally from the Galápagos Islands and study for years in order to be a naturalist. Their knowledge is incredible and they get such joy educating us about the Galápagos Islands and genuine excitement when another animal is spotted.

Lauren Jarboe Koller and I jumped at the opportunity to have a tour of the bridge today. Each officer works a four hour shift twice a day. On the Celebrity Flora, there is no cost to do the tour, you simply make an appointment. It was fascinating to learn how they operate a vessel like this.

Floreana Island - on Tuesday afternoon, we went to Post Office Bay and took a tender ride. Post Office Bay is so cool. People leave postcards and if you find one addressed near your home, you take it to deliver it for them. This tradition has been going on here for hundreds of years. I found one in Orlando so will be delivering it when I get back.

Today we are at Floreana Island and our morning was filled with so much wildlife! We did a hike across the island and saw turtles, sea lions, crabs, flamingos, a sting ray, fish and lots of birds (including the blue foot b***y.). The animals had no fear of us. Obviously, we kept a safe distance back but it was amazing to watch them out in their natural habitat without a care in the world.

My favorite was snorkeling. We had sea lion pups playing with us. I admit- I was a bit terrified but want an amazing experience! Lauren and I are having such a great time!!!

We started our journey today on Santa Cruz Island - this island has one of the biggest cities in the islands - around 20,000 people and also is the home to the famous giant Galapagos tortoises!

🌱 After a short tender ride to shore we took a tour of a greenhouse that Celebrity cruise line owns. Over the years invasive species of trees, bugs, animals, fruit, etc have been killing out the native species to the Galápagos Islands and Celebrity is doing all they can to help bring back the native plants!

Our next stop was absolutely incredible…giant Galapagos tortoises in the wild. Seeing these animals up close and in their natural habitat was completely breathtaking! They are everywhere on the island! One of the most unique things of the location was that it just opened to travel groups so we were the very first tour group to see the tortoises at this spot.

We had lunch provided by Celebrity (remember ALL food and drinks are included on the ship and on the excursions) and enjoyed a performance by a local dance school.

We ended the afternoon with a visit to the Charles Darwin research center. This facility is doing amazing work of breeding giant tortoises and then releasing them back into the wild once they are 3 years old!

Celebrity Cruises has exceeded every expectation so far and has made this travel experience so easy. After breakfast this morning, Pablo, our guide, met us at our hotel and escorted our group to the airport. They took care of everything. It was the easiest check in experience I have ever had and am now spoiled for life! We just boarded our private charter plane to Baltra Island. This plane is just filled with the 100 guests going on the Celebrity Flora. We have a guide flying with us as well.

🌎Greetings from Quito, Ecuador!!!🌎

Today was our full day of touring Quito before we travel to the Galapagos cruise portion of our trip on the Celebrity Flora! We started with a hosted breakfast at our hotel, the JW Marriott- everything we have been doing is included in the price you pay (hotels, transportation, tours, gratuities)

Quito is definitely a city you want to visit with reputable guides. Celebrity has honestly knocked this process out of the park for us- guests are broken into groups of 12-14, and each group has a driver, a local guide, and a designated security guard that follows your small group from behind. We never felt threatened, but was nice to have people with who are familiar with the area. Pablo was our guide and he was incredible!

We visited the actual Equator line (in case you’re wondering - water does really go down the drain the opposite way on either side of the Equator 🤪), toured the town, and had a gorgeous private lunch of local cuisine at a local Church that Celebrity arranges for their guests!

🚽 The bathrooms brought me back to my time studying in Mexico years ago. (Paying 20 cents to use el baño, having the attendant give us the toilet paper, etc.).

I can’t wait to share what else is in store this week ❤️

We landed in Quito! After we got our luggage, we were met by our Celebrity Guide. They assisted with our luggage and now on the way to the J.W. Marriott hotel. Our guide is encouraging us to drink water because it helps with altitude sickness.

These last few days have been a whirlwind at Universal Orlando. A highlight of our Mardi Gras U-Preferred FAM was being able to participate in the nightly Mardi-Gras parade. We rode floats and tossed out beads to the crowds. What an amazing experience! Anyone is able to have this opportunity by purchasing a ticket to the Mardi Gras Float Ride and Dine Experience. We had dinner at one of four participating restaurants, Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar, and then met to get on our float. As you can see in the video - this is a high energy event and an experience I won’t be forgetting for a long time. I’ll be sharing more about my time at Universal over the next few days but looking forward to resting and seeing my family tomorrow.

Good afternoon from Perfect Day! We’re enjoying our last full day of vacation (although I won’t be leaving tomorrow under any circumstances)! We spent several hours over on the island earlier today, and I’ll post more about that later. But I wanted to show y’all something crazy. If you have been following along, I’ve made several mentions about how this gigantic cruise ship, full of people, doesn’t feel busy. And that feeling continued over at Perfect Day! There were beachfront areas that were practically vacant. Crazy! But this where it gets ever crazier. We came back to the ship early - and we are on this massive ship, with what feels like maybe 100 people total. Now, there’s certainly more than 100 people on here right now; but it feels vacant! No lines for anything - and I mean anything! So, if you decide to visit Perfect Day, and your group feels like returning to the ship early, there’s a huge potential upside to that too!
