I am currently treating individuals, adolescents thirteen years of age and older, families, and couples. I specialize in the treatment of issues relating to childhood and adult sexual trauma, PTSD, domestic violence, gay and le***an issues, depression, and self-esteem. When working with couples, my areas of focus include recovering from the sexual trauma of one partner and restoring healthy sexual
practices within the relationship. I also focus on parenting struggles from a couples perspective, and work to create a strong parental unit. Children will divide and conquer if allowed, and having a stable parental front is imperative. As a therapist, developing a treatment approach requires taking a look at a few important questions. What parts of us are innate and what parts are developed as a result of our life experiences? What role does a mental health professional play in the process of growth? I think that what makes us who we are is a combination of our life experiences and the perspective we have about them. I believe that as we develop from children into adults, there are certain blocks or issues that can cause us to experience feelings of unhappiness or dis-satisfaction with our lives. I view my role in terms of increasing awareness of these blocks and the impact they have had on us, while focusing on the present and how we currently operate as a result.
