W**ds Are People Too!
Ode To A Goat Head
Almost 10 years ago, we had a "w**d" problem - Tribulus terrestris also known as goat's head. These spiny seeds (pictured above) have been traditionally used in Chinese and Indian Ayurveda medicine for hundreds of years. However, when you happen upon one (or many) of them in your lawn, they can be a real pain in the... foot! Thankfully, one of our herbalist friends clued us in to its medicinal nature and encouraged us to despise the plant less. So, we embraced the spiny suckers and started selling them... When life gives you lemons - sell the lemons! And so began our journey, and our fascination of herbs only grew... So many plants that are now considered "w**ds" were once widely used for a variety of medicinal purposes. We learned that our prejudice against some of the less attractive plants has meant that we have lost important plant-based knowledge. Now, 10 years later, we carry over 200 different herbs - each one thoughtfully sourced and carefully selected. We encourage our customers to welcome new "w**ds" into their lives.
