Through a nature hunt, Mrs. Sporysz's class investigated the dynamic process of seasonal change. Their findings included an assortment of natural elements, such as colorful leaves, sticks, acorn caps, lichen, and moss. Encouraging children to venture outdoors promotes experiential learning about weather, climate, ecological principles, and seasonal fluctuations.

Students in Mrs. Rooney's classroom often choose to work at the easel during work time. Here are just a few of the many things we are learning when working with art materials at the easel:

Fine motor skills: Holding and moving a paintbrush across paper requires small motor control.

Hand-eye coordination: Dipping a paintbrush into a pot requires a steady hand and a keen eye.

Spatial awareness: Children can learn how objects relate to each other through the shapes they create.

Problem solving: Children face challenges like how to get paint on the paper, how to keep paint on the brush, and how to stop paint from dripping.

Sharing and cooperation: Children can learn to wait their turn and work together.

Upright posture: Working on an easel requires a child to stand or sit upright, which engages the shoulder and back muscles.

Concentration and visual attention: Working on a vertical surface can help children focus on their task.

Trains, pumpkins, corn, butter, and puppets highlighted our educational visit to Maple Tree Farm, providing our preschoolers with numerous learning experiences. These experiences will serve as valuable reference points throughout the year in our studies on growth and life cycles.🎃🍁

There will be six lessons: Nov. 4, 11, 18, 25 and Dec. 2 and 9.
The children will sing at the 10:00AM service on Nov. 17 and Dec. 8th

☔️Mrs. Ashdown's class seized the opportunity to explore the outdoors through a rain walk, despite the rain-soaked conditions of the past two weeks. With appropriate clothing, children can unlock numerous learning opportunities inherent in rain play, which presents a multifaceted sensory experience replete with diverse sounds, visuals, fragrances, and tactile sensations.
