Huskies in the Big Apple
September 1st – 4th 2017
The Huskies open the 2017 campaign on the road in New Jersey against Big-10 foe Rutgers University. The opener is scheduled for Labor Day Weekend, allowing for time before and after the game to experience New York.
It’s been more than a few years since we had a non-conference game worth traveling to. It looks like another wait after this season until we travel to Michigan in 2021.
In addition to the group events you’ve got a great selection of optional tours to experience while in New York. On Saturday (Time TBA), we’ll board motor coaches for the 60 minute drive to New Jersey for the game, arriving in plenty of time to tailgate on site.
This package includes
• Three night accommodations in mid-town Manhattan with tax
• Welcome Cocktail Event Friday Evening
• 7-Day Transit Pass, valid on the entire MTA system, including buses and subways
• Game day transportation from our Manhattan Hotel to New Jersey for the big game**
• Parking and Pre-game tailgate near the stadium
• Tailgate on the lawn near High Point Solutions Stadium
• Access to optional group events
• Game tickets (credit applied if ordering through UW Tickets or online)
Flights?
I am not offering any group flights to New York. There are no cost advantages to booking group flights through the airlines, so I am recommending that you make independent plans with one of the carriers listed below. You have many options for non-stop flights to New York. Use miles or book directly with the airline using the following information:
Kayak.com is a great website to visit to check out who has the best flight deals at the time. You can either book directly with Kayak or take the information you find to one of the airline sites listed below. www.kayak.com

The carriers listed above offer nonstop flights to NY Area airports. You may find better fares with connecting service on one of these carriers.
Southwest Flights
www.iflyswa.com Schedules generally published 6 months out
American Airlines
www.AA.com flights available now
Published fares are available as of 10/4/16 for under $400 on nonstop flights. Connecting flights are priced a little cheaper. It’s hard to say if these fares will come down. Fares have been in the $350-$450 ballpark for a while now. Jet Blue, when they announce their schedules, may be a bit less expensive than the major airlines.
Booking assistance for flights
If you would like assistance booking flights, provide me with the following information. I can book and ticket your flights, but will assess a service fee of $25 per person above published fares. I cannot book mileage tickets. These must be done with the airline.
• Full names of passengers as shown on government ID
• Dates of birth for each passenger
• Credit card information
• Outbound date/time Return date/time
• Airline preferences and mileage club membership numbers if applicable
Airport Transportation
Uber and Lyft operate out of either Newark, Kennedy, or LaGuardia. Cost for these services is estimated at $60 each direction for up to 4 people in a car. Time is about 45 minutes from the airport to the hotel. Taxi is about the same price as Uber or Lyft. Super Shuttle offers shared ride service for approximately $35 per person. A full van of 10 passengers will cost about $150 each way if you book in advance.
Plan on an hour in traffic between any of the NY area airports and mid-town Manhattan.
