Tips for Italy-No. 21
When in Italy, keep in mind some dining tips.
1) Most restaurants don't open until at least 7pm. Plan accordingly. 2) Many restaurants have a cover charge ("coperto") and/or a bread ("Pane") charge.
3) Get the house wine. Always.
4) Bottled water comes in "gas" and "still".
5) Take your time at dinner. don't rush. The waiter will not push you out. In Italy, when you get the table, it's considered yours for the night.

Italy is a great, great country. If you are looking to vacation there, keep in mind that 2025 is a Jubilee Year and will be more crowded than usual. Think about putting off that 2025 trip to 2026 if possible. Travel with Greg is halting its tours to Italy until 2026 so that we can give a better experience to our guests. When traveling to Italy, most people (rightly) want to see Rome, Florence and Venice. If you get a chance, try to spend some time in less touristy cities such as Bologna, Verona, Perugia, Salerno or Bari. You won't regret it!

TRAVELER TIP. Italy is a focus for Travel with Greg LLC. Keep in mind that next year is a Jubilee year in Italy. That means it will be VERY crowded (even more than usual). If planning to go next year, be sure to make reservations as soon as you can and look to go off season if possible. Pushing it off to 2026 may be the better call.
