The Wrightstown Community School District will be closed Tuesday, January 21, 2025, due to extreme cold. All after school activities are cancelled and the Community Wellness Center will be closed.

๐Ÿ™Œ Elianna Coussons, WHS Senior, won 3rd Place ๐Ÿฅ‰ in an essay/poem/poster contest sponsored by the Brown County MLK Celebration Committee. Her winning essay followed the theme of A Vision for Peace: Keep the Dream Alive. She won a laptop computer, and her essay will be published in the Press Gazette. English teacher Mr. Winkler was awarded a teaching award for mentoring students to become involved in writing about the theme. ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™

Lainey Slater-Sundin and Ava Kittoe served as the Wrightstown FFA Chapter Delegates at this yearโ€™s WI FFA Halftime Conference. Ava and Lainey collaborated with other delegates from across Wisconsin to enhance FFA members' opportunities and grow chapter involvement. Great job! ๐Ÿ‘

Seth Meulemans, a senior, has been selected as the Wrightstown Business Education Student of the 2nd Quarter. Seth was chosen for this honor due to his dedication to and excellence in a variety of Business Education classes throughout his high school career. He has successfully completed or is currently enrolled in the following courses: Software Applications, Advanced Software Applications, AP Microeconomics, and Personal Finance. As a sophomore, Seth earned the opportunity to compete at the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship for PowerPoint in Orlando, Florida. ๐Ÿ’ปโ˜€๏ธ

Seth is also being recognized for his significant contributions to Wrightstownโ€™s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) program. He has been an active four-year member of the club, competing in FBLA events each year. His achievements include advancing to the state level in Business Calculations as a freshman, Introduction to Business Calculations as a sophomore, and Word Processing as a junior. Additionally, Seth has volunteered at the annual Citizen/Grandparents Christmas Party for all four years of high school. ๐ŸŽ„

What a fun way to celebrate the 1/2 way point of the year! Sources of Strength organized a "Choose Your Own Adventure" day for our WMS students. Each teacher had an option for students to sign up for, and each student got to choose 3 different adventures. Some of the adventures included decorating water bottles, creating cards for veterans, therapy dogs, kickball, jailbreak, yoga, Wii games, outdoor walk, learning how to play cribbage, and so much more. ๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ WMS ended their day with an assembly to celebrate the end of the 1st semester!! So much FUN! ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™

Wrightstown Elementary School is looking for a School Nutrition Assistant for the 2024-25 school year. This is a great part-time school year position on student contact days only; no work on holidays, weekends or summer. Duties include:

๐ŸŸ Prepare menu items for the next day
๐Ÿ”ตWashing dishes as needed throughout the morning
๐ŸŸ Help serve/prepare menu items for that day's meal
๐Ÿ”ตServe food to students
๐ŸŸ Weekly and monthly cleaning duties

Benefits include paid sick leave and paid holidays.

Serve Safe Certified preferred but not required. Requires ability to follow equipment guideline, instructions, and health and safety guidelines. Attendance required at annual training & monthly food service meetings.

One Wrightstown was picked as 1 of 50 to be a recipient of the Give Big Green Bay Campaign on Feb 19-20!

There will be 24 hours of giving with matched funds from the Packer organization. This is so exciting!!! One Wrightstown makes a huge difference to so many people in our community, and with more funds, we can make an even bigger difference. ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆOur goal is $50,000! ๐Ÿ’ฐ

Wrightstown Community School District is looking for a part-time special education instructional aide to support students in classrooms. โ€๐Ÿซ This is a great part-time position where you can help students on academic and life skills with the teamwork of the other teaching staff. The schedule is 5.5 hours during the school day with a lunch break. The person hired for the position would follow the school schedule, only work on days students are in session, and have a great work environment! Benefits include the Wisconsin Retirement System, 5 paid holidays, and 4 sick days. Free membership at the Wrightstown Wellness Center. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Thank you to the Redefining Futures Foundation for the generous gift of a book vending machine at Wrightstown Elementary! ๐Ÿ“š Today we had a ribbon cutting ceremony and began using the vending machine. ๐ŸŽ€ Our students will be encouraged to follow the golden rule to earn a gold coin. Once they earn a gold coin, they can come down with their teacher to receive a free book from the vending machine. What an amazing gift for our students! ๐Ÿ“–

Today, Mrs. Kempfert and Mrs. Welhouse each chose one of the first recipients of the gold coin because they have been following the golden rule. Great job!!! ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ‘ Congratulations to Mr. Haese's Advanced Microsoft Office Specialist students that achieved Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification in Excel. ๐Ÿ–ฅ MOS Certification is widely recognized and demonstrates that these students have the skills needed to get the most out of the particular Microsoft Office program they achieved certification in. A 2022 survey of Wrightstown graduates in secondary school found that 78% use Microsoft Office products at their secondary school vs. only 21% Google apps. Of those in the workforce, 72% use Microsoft Office vs. only 18.5% Google apps. ๐Ÿ’ป

๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ We're WALKING BACK our Walk for St. Jude! ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ

The Wellness Center is partnering with Crush Wrightstown and Kickin' It with the Cows to raise money for St. Jude Children's Hospital. This initiative will start next week Wednesday, January 15th and will run each Wednesday evening until the Health Fair takes place on Wednesday, March 26th!

Here's how it works:
๐ŸŸ  Stop in at the Wellness Center or Crush to fill out the signup waiver and submit payment. Cost is $20 per family (participants must be in 8th grade or older per Wellness Center policy).
๐Ÿ”ต Show up at the Wellness Center on Wednesday evenings anytime between 4:00-8:00 PM to record your laps. There will be a sign-in sheet at the front desk along with lap counters to TRACK your steps.
๐ŸŸ Record your steps each week.
๐Ÿ”ตAt the end of the 10 weeks, the top lap walkers will be announced and awarded a prize at the Health Fair on Wednesday, March 26th from 4:00 - 6:30 PM.

There is no signup deadline for this walk. You are more than welcome to signup at any time during the 10 week period. The Wellness Center will be donating all proceeds and 5 cents for every lap walked over the 10 weeks.
