It's almost time for Wytheville's most iconic event, the Chautauqua Festival in the Park. Celebrating 40 years in 2024, this eight day event kicks off with the hot air balloon glow at dusk on Friday. The hot air balloon has become synonymous with the Festival and Wytheville. Following the parade down Main Street on Saturday morning, the week continues with daily children’s activities and workshops, the art & photography exhibit, the flower & table show, craft bazaar, pet show, 5k race, and car show.
Each evening festival goers enjoy entertainment specific to that day’s genre, whether it be Motown, Bluegrass, Classic Rock, Beach tunes, or Country music, all for FREE - just bring your lawn chair.

Today is the day. Be sure to bring your little ones to the Wytheville Visitors Center for Vacation Safety Day (10-3). Get them fingerprinted and photographed before you travel this year. The first 50 kids will receive FREE Gillys Shaved Ice and a gift bag compliments of Jennifer Walters State Farm.

Bands-Arts-Bourbon-Ale = BA BA Fest 2024!

Saturday, June 1st, join us at the Homestead Museum for great music, talented artisans, bourbon tastings, and local craft beers! Admission if free for this celebration of Appalachian culture. Gates open at 2pm and parking is available at the Wytheville Visitors Center.

Join us as we line Wytheville's North 4th Street to welcome the riders of Run for the Wall to Wytheville. Arrival time is estimated at 4:00pm, with riders exiting off of I-81N at exit 70. Once the riders have reached Withers Park there will be a brief Welcome Ceremony. All Run for the Wall events in Withers Park are open to the public who are encouraged to attend. If you talk to a rider, be sure to tell them "Welcome Home".

Mark you calendars for the official kick off of festival season in Wytheville at the Wythe Arts Council's Brews & Bands on Saturday, May 18th. 🎶🍺🎵🍻

Head to Wytheville’s Withers Park on Saturday, May 18th for Chautauqua’s 7th annual Brews & Bands! Sample craft beers while cheering on your favorite local bands as they compete for our “Band of the Year”. Food vendors and non alcoholic beverages will be available all day at this family friendly event. The first band takes the stage at noon (until 6) and don’t forget to bring your lawn chair. 🇺🇸 🌧 Veterans Day Update 🌧 🇺🇸
Due to the heavy rain forecast for Friday (11/10) the Veterans Day Parade has been cancelled. The Ceremony will now be held inside the Spiller Elementary School Gymnasium/ Auditorium beginning at 10:00am on Friday morning.
Saturday (11/11) events at the Millwald Theatre will be held as scheduled.
