Yankton (South Dakota, USA) will host the first-ever combined World Archery Field and 3D Championships in 2026.

The innovative bid combining the two disciplines was approved by the executive board today. Yankton previously hosted the world field championships in 2022.

Discover Yankton's rich history through its historic homes! 🏠

Ellerman Home (1912): This unique "log" house, made of concrete, was built by Arthur Ellerman, a contractor and sewer/water engineer for the City of Yankton. His family lived here until 1980.

Shannon-Ohlman Home (1871): With its Italianate architecture, this home was leased to Federal Judge P.C. Shannon, who presided over the famous trial of Jack McCall, the killer of Wild Bill Hickok.

African Methodist Episcopal Church (1885): The oldest Black church in the Dakota Territory, built by former slaves, continues to be a vibrant space for live music and events today.

Kids, visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Mead Museum Hall of Trees! From 1-3pm and create fun CRAFTS! It’s all about kids: free admission, prize bag when you finish the scavenger hunt, so much fun! Adults $8. Seniors $5. Kids and members free!

🤩Full Schedule of events for the Yankton Holiday Festival of Lights tonight!👇

The time has finally come!!! Thursday, Dec.5th, the 2024 Holiday Festival of Lights is ready to illuminate Yankton. Join us for an entire evening of family fun. Our FREE pre-parade activities will be kicking off at 4pm in The Brewery at 2nd and Walnut. Then stick around for the biggest holiday parade to date as over 80 festive floats light up the downtown Merdian District, starting promptly at 6pm. Make your way down to Meridian Plaza at the base of the Meridian Bridge following the parade as we light the Christmas tree, enjoy a fireworks show, get a visit from Santa, and enjoy FREE hot chocolate and cider compliments of First Dakota. The BIGGEST and BRIGHTEST holiday parade in South Dakota, right here in Yankton!
