I had the pleasure of spending the weekend with Jeanie for her first full weekend backpacking trip. She had done one previous overnight but was eager to test out 2 nights in the backcountry. At 66 years young, she was amazing and up for the challenge of our 20 mile trek. She powered thru each day and woke up each morning with a smile! She even packed in her own mini wine bottles to celebrate each night!

Another fun 3 days! Carson is an Outdoor Education major and landed a guiding job at a summer camp. He wanted to get additional multi-day backpacking under his belt before he heads out. We did a 30 mile stretch of the Appalachian Trail. He was excited for the challenge and ready for multiple 10+ mile days. Carson even got to experience trail magic! It wouldn’t be backpacking if there wasn’t rain but still a great time!

What a great weekend! Our weather was very temperamental but that didn’t stop these 2 amazing souls. Talk about willing participants. At the last minute, our mileage changed due to the weather and they killed it! First time backpackers and they completed 24 miles.

Grateful that Meagan and Lauren entrusted me to guide them and love seeing that sense of accomplishment at the end of the trip! It was an honor to spend Mother’s Day weekend with and
