Is Throwback Thursday still a thing?

I had never been to EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts (also commonly referred to as FArts) and as someone who loves food and the arts, that was a travesty. So, I did what any rational adult would do and booked a 36-hour, solo trip to Orlando. I flew out of Midway on the first flight to MCO of the day, dropped my bags at the hotel (Swan Reserve so I could walk to EPCOT), and headed to EPCOT via the International Gateway. I was inside the park by 10:30am and on my way to experience all of the things FArts has to offer. I ate some killer food, had some great drinks, saw incredible art, listened to Broadway performers, rode Guardians of the Galaxy (among other rides) and just had a fabulous day!

The following morning I met my father and stepmother for brunch at Disney World's most underrated value of a brunch spot, Ale and Compass, then I headed to Disney Springs to shop and eat cookies at Gideon's. I capped off my whirlwind trip with a fabulous dinner at Jiko- I hadn't eaten there since I was in college and man was it FIRE!

FArts definitely lived up to the expectation I had in my brain and I can’t wait to take my kids to it one of these years. Of all of the EPCOT festivals, this one is probably the most kid-friendly with a bunch of interactive experiences adults can appreciate and kids would love. Festival of the Arts is just around the corner and will run from January 17-February 24 this year.

A fabulous first trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth to celebrate a first birthday!
