Many of Napa’s well known wineries are located off of Hwy 29 and the Silverado Trail. However there are many hidden gems that are greatly accessible by bikes! Despite being a shorter road, Big Ranch Rd is home to some of our favorites wineries here in Napa, from north to south, it goes:

🍷 Materra Family Vineyards: This winery specializes in whites, rosé, and reds styles of wine. Along with the winemaking, grapes grown by Materra are well regarded for their prestigious quality in the Oak Knoll District!

🍷Monticello Vineyards: A winery established in 1970 and inspired by Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello in VA. A must visit for red wine lovers and U.S history buffs!

🍷 Backstage Winery: A beautiful Tuscan style estate with a beautiful garden to visit. This producer boasts delightful, small batch wines made from various estate vineyards around the valley.

🍷Robert Biale Vineyards: A MUST for Zinfandel lovers (and no, not the white-Zinfandels). This Zin-house cranks out Zinfandel like no one’s business in Napa Valley. Ask about their history behind the ‘Black Chicken.’ It’s fascinating!

Let’s ride the Vine Trail! A super easy ride and a great length for families too! We rode from the north end of town, heading south to the Oak Knoll District rest stop, roughly 20min. There are couple benches along the way, the Mayacamas Mountain Range to the west, endless vineyards, and beautiful scenery! There’s plenty of wineries along the way both in town and off the vine trail if you need a glass of wine! #willbikeforwine #okd #napavalleyvinetrail
