Hello All!
Over the last weekend it came to our attention that there has been much social media confusion regarding the different Riley operations in Oak Glen and how they are associated. Let us help clear up any confusion on that point. Theres a lot of us! And when we say a lot, we mean 40 and counting in the Glen. That said, Los Rios Rancho, Frontier Events, and Wilshire’s apple shed are owned and operated by one branch of that family tree; Shelli and Devon Riley along with their kids (Seth, Bekah, Emma, and Grace).
Shelli and Devon were the original creators of Riley’s farm in 1987. At just 21 they restored the 1880’s packing barn (found on the property) and began a life-long profession of agri-tourism. There they hosted Living history tours, Sleepy Hallow and Christmas Carol dinners, along with countless barn dances. Their experiences at Riley’s farm helped prepare them for coming business changes and lead to growth on new properties and new exciting endeavors.
After 15 years in business, other Riley family members became involved in the operation and it became evident that there were differences in opinion about business operations among the family. After several years of continued strain, Devon and Shelli determined that the best hope for having a successful independent operation would be to separate from the Riley’s farm operation and begin afresh.
In 2004 The Devon and Shelli Riley family were offered the wonderful opportunity to run the 100-year-old Los Rios Rancho property. They took on the 150 acres of orchards, Bakery, and store.
While we believe in being attractive and winsome ambassadors for Christ, we prefer not to involve political action (or opinion) in our business lives. We find that it creates unnecessary division and contention where we would far rather share community and a christ-like love to all.
Our mission is to reconnect our guests with a shared love of genuine and wholesome experiences in a beautiful place. Picking apples on a chilly fall day, Walking among blossoming flowers, and sitting hearth-side with a slice of pie. These things are good for the soul. We hope you would like to share those experiences as well.
