Zephyrhills is indeed the City of Pure Water! 💧Best Tasting tap water in Florida!
The City of Pure Water is living up to its name after Zephyrhills' tap water was deemed the best-tasting tap water in the Sunshine State.
The City of Zephyrhills Utilities Department – Water Division won the 2024 American Water Works Association (AWWA) Florida Section Statewide Water Drinking Contest. The City's water withstood a rigorous evaluation process that measured color, taste, and smell, among other metrics.
The city credits the dedicated team of water treatment plant operators for their commitment to providing safe and delicious drinking water to the community daily.
The water will next be tested nationally in June at the AWWA's 2024 Annual Conference & Expo in Anaheim, California.
The honors keep coming for the City of Zephyrhills Utilities Department. The Water and Wastewater Divisions received the 2023 Plant Operations Excellence Award from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
The award program celebrates Florida's drinking water and domestic wastewater facilities that demonstrate excellence in operation, maintenance, innovative treatment, waste reduction, pollution prevention, recycling and/or other special achievements.
"These awards," said Utilities Director John Bostic, "are due to the dedication of the people working for the city."
The utilities team was formally recognized by FEDP at the 2024 Focus on Change seminar series event in Haines City; which provides the most current regulatory information to utilities throughout the state.
