Just Home from Chile – But Already Planning Our Return!

Allison and I just arrived back home after an unforgettable three weeks in Chile. We've been fortunate to travel across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Australia, and most of Europe, but Chile was unlike anywhere we've ever been.

Our adventure began in Chile’s stunning wine regions, where we spent a week tasting world-class Carménère and Cabernet Sauvignons, walking through vineyards framed by the Andes. From there, we headed south to the Lake District, a land of towering volcanoes, pristine lakes, and rushing rivers. Hiking in the Andes was an experience like no other—the crisp mountain air, breathtaking views, and sense of vast wilderness left us in awe.

But beyond the landscapes, it was the Chilean people who truly made this trip special. Kind, warm, and endlessly generous, they welcomed us with open arms.

We’ve already decided—we're going back next year for a full month to explore even deeper and reconnect with this incredible place and its people!

Luxury in the Heart of Nature – Nawelpi Lodge 🌿🏡

For the next three nights, Allison and I are staying at Nawelpi Lodge, an incredible retreat tucked away in the Andes. Our cozy yet luxurious cabin has huge windows, a fireplace, and best of all—a private deck with a hot tub overlooking the river! The sound of rushing water and the surrounding forest make this place feel like pure paradise.

We’re right next to Pumalín Douglas Tompkins National Park, a massive nearly 1 million-acre protected area filled with ancient forests, waterfalls, and wildlife. This region has a fascinating history, once privately owned and later gifted to Chile as part of one of the largest conservation efforts in the world. Can’t wait to explore more! 🌿🏞️

Pure Bliss at Termas Geométricas! 🌿💦

Allison and I just experienced one of the world’s most incredible thermal baths at Termas Geométricas in the Andes Mountains of Chile! Nestled in a lush, misty canyon, this hidden gem features 17 steaming pools connected by striking red wooden walkways, surrounded by ferns and cascading waterfalls. We spent hours unwinding, completely immersed in nature’s beauty. The sound of rushing water and the scent of the forest made the experience even more magical. Whether you love hot springs or just want a unique escape, this is an absolute must-visit in Chile! 🌿🔥

Today we visited Termas Pucón Indómito, and it was an incredible experience! Nestled in the forest, the hot springs are heated by the Villarrica Volcano, with mineral-rich waters that felt amazing after a day of exploring. The pools blend beautifully with nature, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and lush greenery. The warm water flows straight from underground, creating a relaxing and rejuvenating soak. We LOVED it!

We just wrapped up an epic hike on Volcán Villarrica, towering above Pucón, Chile! 🌋🏔️ The views were unreal—snow-capped peaks and lava fields. The trail was a mix of rugged terrain and breathtaking panoramas, with glimpses of glacial ice and lush valleys below. If you're ever in the area, this adventure is a must. Who’s up for the challenge? 🔥⛰️

Just had the most incredible hike of our lives—near the top of the Andes Mountains! 🏔️✨ The views were absolutely breathtaking, with towering peaks, stunning alpine lakes, and crystal-clear rivers. We even got within a kilometer of Argentina! 🇦🇷 The beauty and scale of this place are beyond words. Feeling so grateful for this adventure and the chance to experience such a wild, majestic landscape. Definitely a day we’ll never forget! 💙

Wild ride on the Trancura River! 🌊🚣‍♂️ Allison and I tackled the rapids in the Andes near Pucón, and at one point, we totally flipped the raft on a big rapid! 😱💦 But no worries—we all got back in, laughed it off, and kept charging downstream. The views were epic, the adrenaline was high, and it was hands down one of the most fun adventures ever!

We loved the San Pedro Vineyard in Curicó Valley... such a cool experience—where else do you see cacti growing right next to vineyards? The mix of green vines and tall, spiky cacti makes the whole place feel like a wild blend of desert and wine country. Walking through the rows with the sun shining down, you can’t help but snap a few pics. Wine tasting with this epic backdrop? Yes, please! 🌵🍷
