Penjikent it is a city in the Sughd province of Tajikistan on the river Zeravshan. It is one of the ancient towns of Sogdiana. The ruins of ancient Penjikent are on the outskirts of the modern city. Near by the ancient Penjikent located the archaeological site Sarazm. Sarazm is an ancient town and it dates back to the 4th millennium BC. Sarazm today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is located 15 kilometers west of the city of Panjakent. The area has a length about 1.5 km and a width from 400 to 900 m. The area has a great archaeological interest as it constitutes the first proto-historical agricultural society in this region of Central Asia. Haftkul or Marguzor lakes or also known as "Seven beauties of Shing" it is a unique complex of seven lakes ("haft" - is seven and "kul" is lake) with the crystal clear turquoise water in the valley of Zarafshan on the north of Tajikistan. The lakes are located on the foothills of Fann mountains. They cascade along the Shing River Valley. The lower lake is located at an altitude of 1598 meters above sea level, and the highest one is at an altitude of 2400 meters. Formed as a result of the movement of a glacier, lakes from a geological point of view are a vivid example of a moraine relief, and from an aesthetic point of view they are a beautiful, amazing, spectacular landscape. In September of 2022 the team of International Caravan Travel Service and Renaissance Tours on behalf of Art Gallery of New South Wales made adventurous expedition to Karakalpakstan, led by great scientist, historian and archeologist Iain Shearer . During our expedition, we have discovered historical treasure of the ancient land of Karakalpakstan. The participants of the tour, the experts of archeology and art from Australia described the discovered part of the world as one of the most interesting places on the planet earth. We have discussed the Russian avant-garde art collection in the State Fine Arts Museum of Igor Savitskiy, created in the soviet era by Igor Savitskiy. Close friend of Igor Savitskiy and former director of the museum Marinika Babanazarova (Мариника Бабаназарова) gave us detailed explanation of the created collection. Later we had a chance to see small town of Chimbay and met with the masters of the nomad’s houses or Yurt as it is called here. We were invited to drink a cup of tea and to have a little talk in the workshop of the famous artist of sculpture of Karakalpakstan Daribay Tadjimuratov . Very recently we had visited the ancient city of Khiva in the province of Khorezm, Uzbekistan. We were so surprised with all the colors of the first days of September, we got to the Melon Festival, it was fantastic! The vendors of the melons, water melons, fruits and vegies arrived to the ancient city of Khiva from different districts to introduce their goods. In front of the main gates of the city special folklore performance had been played, people were singing traditional khorezmian songs and dancing.
