We are an NGO that connects enthusiastic young people from Europe that want to help to make a change in Peru. By the change - we mean educating children from very poor areas where usually future of kids is already predestined.... We try to motivate children and teach them that they can have better life than their parents. Some more info about the project:
-English within the project will be taught
in a public primary school – IndoAmerica in Esperanza
-The school is located in a poor area of the city where many children grow up in poor conditions often with not very encouraging environment at home
-Children often look for physical contact (some of them live without parents or come from criminal families, or have experienced violence)
-There are 6 grades in IndoAmerica, each grade has one classroom apart from the 2nd grade (2 classrooms) – all together 7 classrooms
-There is no English teacher and teachers don’t speak English at all
-There is one English class per week for each grade
-Class lasts 1,5 hr
-Each class is be under supervision of a Peruvian teacher that is supposed to maintain class focused
-Each class has approximately 30 students
Teaching with us is a great insight to Peruvian lifestyle, opportunity to help but also a great chance to get new skills - spanish, experience with teaching, work in nultircultutural environment. In case you are interested, let us know :)
