Native species doing some clean-up for us by catching and eating (in just over two hrs!) a Cuban frog, a newly invasive species. These things are horrible. Big, noisy and covered in toxic slime, but VI boa don’ care at all. 👊

Algae, seaweed, sea grass - stop ignoring them! These things are working harder than anyone of us to clean our atmosphere and slow down climate change. They’re small, taken for granted and considered kind of nasty - but no! They live short glorious lives, effectively sucking carbon out of the ocean as they bloom. When they die, that carbon goes back into the earth, where it should be. , algae are diverse, bizarre and beautiful. This one, the umbrella algae (Acetabularia acetabulum) happens to be the 3rd largest single-celled creature that we know of. The two bigger single celled creatures? Also algae. So now you know, don’t ignore them. Big-up to the seabed carbon capturers!
