Over The Carib LLC is proud to announce Captain Carlos Linquist is taking the helm of our Fishing Charter Operation in St.Croix USVI on September 12th. Captain Linquest brings a wealth of Caribbean fishing experience to our team. Starting at an early age Carlos loved fishing and the water, by age 19 he was licensed his professional career started.

Working with famed Marlin Captain Jim Estrada of Black Pearl they posted and amazing first season together with top charter boat in the 2015 Atlantic Blue Marlin Open. Early 2016, he moved over to a private tournament boat, Rukus, with Captain Jerry Emmanuel in the British Virgin Islands. Their third day together they posted first place and the win in the 2016 Scrub Island Invitational Daily. Later that year they racked another placement getting third in the 2016 Virgin Gorda Marlin Open. 2017 wins include 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the Junior Angler Wahoo Jamboree in Virgin Gorda BVI. In a short 3 years Carlos had established himself as one for the best hands in the islands.

Late 2017, he gets the opportunity in St John USVI to join Captain Joshua Bourg of World Class Anglers group fishing on a 36’ Carolina Classic. At 21, Carlos earns his Captain’s license and began working inshore charters and running the offshore charters. Once again his determination, hard work and experience put him and his boat on the board with a 2nd and 3rd in the St Thomas Dolphin Derby. In 2020 working the vessel Just Fish Carlos returns to the 2021 Dolphin Derby with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, Top Female Angler and best boat wins.

Over the years Carlos has mentored under some of the best anglers in the world Charles Perry, Robert fly Navarro, Paco Vela and Dean Dunham, as well as the Captain’s mentioned above. He brings an amazing experience of specialties to our operation. From live baiting, tease and pitch for billfish, deep dropping and trolling the deep Caribbean waters for all pelagic’s.

We are super excited to have Carlos and look forward to him adding to our early win this year of 1st place Marlin in the 2022 Golden Hook Big 8 Tournament.

Winter Wahoo season is fast approaching and we still have some prime full moon phases in next couple months to get some good billfish action in. Tuna fishing this year has been good as well.
