My father and step mother bought this slice of paradise two years before Hugo in 1987. My brothers and sister and I were brought up to love Mexico, Latin America, South America but especially the Caribbean with it’s kind people and peaceful nature. Oh yes - and astonishing beauty. This 10 acre parcel of heaven sits up about 30 ft above the turquoise waters on the rural southeast coast of St Croix, USVI. When my father bought the land there was one main building and two smaller cottages. A not yet finished but structurally sound, rib-cage of gigantic hardwood beams two feet thick. From that he built out six premiere suites that surround you with comfort and quality craftsmanship - Corian counters and stainless steel gourmet kitchens. But it’s the serenity of this intimate eco-resort that really delivers. Listen to the gentle waves of the Caribbean waters and loose yourself in the tall coconut palms and red bougainvillas as you stroll along St Croix’s most private, public beach. Or lounge under the shady veranda overlooking the endless greens and azure sky of the US Virgin Islands. Sip a cool drink, feel the white sand between your toes or swim in the warm, healing water - this is Hummingbird Beach Hideaway! My father passed last year and we want to continue to respect and honor his love of this special place, the island people and the rare tranquility of this private estate. We are now completing some minor repairs after Irma and Maria and hope to be back in full operation by December 1st, 2018. Please don’t hesitate to leave us a message if you have any questions. Otherwise, friend us and we’ll update you as we get closer to the re-opening in late 2018. Hope to see you soon! xo
