Whales Are Nearby Our Little Island. They know to travel south for the Winter, too.

The whales are singing on the north shore this morning! It’s so amazingly calm and clear—we’re headed to Cane Bay for our day sail. Fingers crossed for 🐋 sightings!

Should we sing "The Boys of Summer" or "The Boys are Back in Town"? 🤣 Male sea turtles are congregating in our near shore waters to wait for their special girlfriends to arrive ❤️ Summer is green and hawksbill sea turtle peak mating season. Males generally arrive first to the breeding grounds, where mating takes place. After about a month the males depart for their foraging grounds while the females remain in place for the next three months or so laying clutches of eggs every two weeks. Between now and December, we will record more than 7,000 sea turtle activities across St Croix 🔥🔥🔥

It’s a rare double cruise ship day today. Lots of people diving, shopping, sightseeing, and in general just lovin’ our little slice of paradise.

Here's a rundown on St. Croix's airline service for the next several months.

AMERICAN AIRLINES

The morning flight to MIA comes back on March 2nd and is with us through August 14th. It returns on November 5th and is (so far) scheduled to remain through next February (that's as far into the future that they publish schedules)

When the morning flight returns we'll lose the second afternoon MIA flight. We'll only have one MIA flight between 8/15 and 11/5.

The CLT flight remains with us as a Saturday only flight through 8/12. It returns on 10/7 through 10/28 still as Saturday only, then oddly is canceled until 11/11 when it returns through the winter. So far this year it's only scheduled as a Saturday only flight. In the past it's operated daily during the holidays. Hopefully they'll add that back in.

SPIRIT
Their FLL flight remains as a daily flight for as far into the future as their schedules are published (11/7).

DELTA
The ATL flight currently operates everyday except Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday through 3/8, then it operates everyday except Monday and Wednesday through 4/19 when it becomes a Saturday only flight through 9/2 when it goes away for the off-season.

It returns on 11/11 as a Saturday only flight through 12/16 when it goes back to operating every day except Monday and Wednesday.

SUMMARY
Not many changes other than the usual ones. No new service being scheduled.

The PLUS: The return of the morning MIA flight. It sure makes connections much easier when you have most of the day in MIA to connect onward rather than the current schedule that has both MIA flight arriving so late into MIA after 8pm. Same with the return as it give us all day to get to MIA to connect to St. Croix.

The NEGATIVE: Not having the Charlotte (CLT) flight go back to daily service for at least the holidays. Hopefully AA will decide to add some more days to that schedule.
