Capoeira for Youth: Movement, Music & Culture!

Give your child the chance to explore the exciting world of Capoeira—a dynamic Afro-Brazilian “dance fight game” blending movement and music! Youth ages 7-15 will learn graceful, challenging moves while discovering the history of African resilience in colonial Brazil using, Capoeira, Candomblé and other African based practices. The movement is graceful and challenging. It’s a fun way to build discipline, engage with percussion, and even learn some Portuguese!

Dates: September 17 & 24
Time: 4:45-5:45 PM
Location: St. Gerard’s Hall, Frederiksted
Fee: $20 for both classes / $10 for one
