My based-on-the-true-story of our baby goldfish with a bent tail, children's picture book's, "The Tail of Little Bit" FIRST BOOKSIGNING will be Saturday, November 9 at the South Huntsville Library on Bailey Cove. In the South Classroom, 2:00 pm- 4:00 pm. I will give a Short Talk at 2:00. Yes, there's cake! Just in time for National Anti-Bullying month!

I can finally release the cover of my first book, a children’s picture book based on the true story of our bent-tailed, circle swimming bullied goldfish Little Bit! Released late October in time for AntiBullying Month, it is up for pre-order on the Publishers website and Homer’s will have them to order autographed also. My husband Homer and I are the owners of Skyridge and I just wanted to give a shout out to him for all his loving work there last week and this. He was just there for 10 days and really all he did was upkeep on it to keep it in its best state for visitors and us alike. He extended a day so he could go snorkeling one time!Joy is our magical property manager that we cannot do without on a daily basis, but when Homer comes down, he does things like he fixed our electric driveway gate (ha, his St. John name is GoatGate Homer) and the wi-fi, music, our security cameras, and all the other little things that are constantly going wonky because of the lovely sea salt breezes at the 650 feet that gives Skyridge all its most wonderful views. Like oiling closet doors getting a little cranky or that drawer in the kitchen the same or needing a new coat of paint on a rusty spot on outside furniture, cleaning WD-40 on all 6 sliders, just keeping it looking fine. Is he not the best? Photos: Part of the view, about a third off the sea side, the valley side over the pool is wonderful also and then a little bit of the driveway that people don’t like because it’s steep - well have an adventure people! With our beautiful orchid - like flower tree, that I always forget its name, still recovering and spreading from hurricane damage that knocked it all to the ground. ❤️

Homer’s first drone flight over our Skyridge, St John USVI. He said he was a little rusty, and at the end nearly crashed it in the bushes off the pool deck😉 now how can anyone ever complain that the driveway is steep when this is what you get at the end of it? The pool is on the valley side looking towards Bordeaux mountain and Carolina Valley and Coral Bay showing a scrap on the left but then over the roof is seaside north and east, a panorama looking over 13 US and British Virgins! This still below shows about 3/4 of the available view from the top deck that direction.

Our darling Yawzi was one of Pirate Bill’s colony many years ago. He lived across the street and did a wonderful job of trap neuter return on the neighborhood cats and had a Bush Cat feeding station, what the islanders call ferals. When Bill passed, Skyridge took over feeding his cats and this sweet friendly little boy, we decided needed to come home with us. He has lived the life of luxury ever since, inside safe. He lost his hearing soon after we brought him home due to numerous ear mite infections he had had in the bush.

I have been down here at Skyridge 10 days now doing some last little caulking and touch up painting, gardening and such jobs. I haven’t even felt the need to leave to go to any beach. Homer left it in great shape the last trip he was down here in early December doing lots of big jobs for three weeks so I could enjoy it. The news is we will no longer short term rent. We have St John friends that needed a place to stay for 6 weeks renting our bottom duplex - three bedrooms living room kitchen and we will keep the top for us.
