The whimsical "One-Horned Butt Fish" (Homo snorkelus unihornus) is a term of endearment for the quirky and somewhat clumsy snorkeling humans often seen in groups in tropical waters. Displaying a playful range of colorful outfits and distinctive snorkels, or "horns," these creatures mainly gather around boats, from small sailboats to large catamarans, nicknamed "cattlemarans" for the herd-like clusters of snorkelers they attract. They converge in these marine habitats, seeking adventure and underwater thrills, often forming what is known as a "snorkel squad."
These delightful beings, while not shy, perform an enchanting underwater ballet known as the "snorkeler's dance," complete with flipper-assisted pirouettes and upside-down antics, which showcases their humorous side and the reason behind their unique moniker. To fully enjoy their presence without disturbance, it's recommended to approach them silently under sail, allowing the rare opportunity to observe their fascinating behavior as they remain engrossed in the wonders of the oceanic realm below.
