Summer Update , 2024, Week 32.

Employees of the Week.
Just borderline impossible to choose employees of the week, this week. We are just overwhelmed by the performance of the whole team. Just outstanding guys. Thanks. Everyone was employee of the week. It was that simple.

Cleaners - dealing with high traffic. Above and beyond ensuring seamless room turn over and a unprecedented amount of laundry service. Amazing. Team leader Thành, as always. Above and beyond.

F&B service - dealing with high volume, with outside gusts visiting, early arrivals and late checkouts often causing more at breakfast and dinner than we can even accommodate, room wise. All handled professionally. Thank-you ladies for your amazing front of house performance.

Kitchen - Outstanding, with a relentless schedule of preparation, prefabrication, cooking, cleaning repeating, relentless. Thank-you to all of you that make this possible. An amazing team effort.

Security and maintenance detail - A huge effort from these gentlemen, keeping all the pools clean, moving dining furniture daily, operating courtesy vehicles to Elements Villas, helping with maintenance and troublesome ACs, leading and cooperating with the entire team in the task of keeping the grounds clean and the gardens and common areas groomed, moving luggage to and from rooms and storage area as check ins and check outs demand and all the while keeping an eye on the safety and security of all. Amazing effort guys, Thankyou.

Accounts - as always, perfect and precise.

Reception and management - this team have been so busy too. Providing an amazing experience to our guests from the moment of arrival, and check in with a well informed welcome drink, arranging tours and activities, DIY information and travel- on ideas, to our guest until goodbyes at check out, and often managing customer experiences and expectations right up until arrival at D**g Hoi Airport, rail station and hotels at Hue and Hoi An. These guys and there use of procedure and adaptation, are what coordinated the Phong Nha Farmstay experience. It’s where the magic happens. The leadership of Long and the commitment to procedure of Mai and the enthusiasm of Thì , D**g and newly arrived Thuy, are what produce the secret fairy dust sprinkled on the holidays.

But all this excellent work, taken into account we must choose our team member of the week. This week we’ve chosen 2z Miss Nga and Miss Ngoan. They have been working together here since the beginning. Just shy of 14 years with a few breaks for maternity leave. They have made careers with us. Sharing training from outside influences developing their skills as we have developed the business itself and the local tourism
Industry. We are really proud of these ladies and their efforts. Their commitment. Their leadership.

Week 31 2024 Exceptional Team Member of the month.

It was difficult due to the amazing effort from the entire team. Security, Cleaning, Kitchen, Bar, Reception/Management team, Accounts, Transport and CBT stakeholders have all been faultless in their effort, approach to to customers, and commitment to the operation of the Phong Nha Farmstay.

But a real stand out, is Mrs Phạm Sáu. She gets the week 31 recognition.
Recently returned after maternity leave.
The Summer months have been super busy, The restaurant has been a major pressure point. Sấu’s ability to remain calm and keep smiling has been instrumental in getting us through each breakfast and evening meal, with a minimum of fuss or drama.
Sau lives in the village, with her family and supplies some produce to the business from her garden.
Some mornings, she takes guests on a free 1/2 hour walking tour around the village. Explaining the traditional culture and farming lifestyle to our guests.
A big thanks to Sau.

These gate posts have seen some changes over the generations, since their construction. The decendsnts of the original inhabitants are still here, many with bloodlines mingled through war, travel and immigration. This gateway through which history has witnessed so many human dramas unfold. Births. deaths, good seasons and bad, wars, ideologies, economic and social upheavals, mysteries and misdeeds.
The book, based on a segment of the areas intricate and complicated story, can be purchased at Phong Nha Farmstay. The hotel is located on the opposite side of the rice paddys, looking back at the ancient columns. There are not many alive that remember the temple inside the entrance, or the residences that surrounded the site, but luckily some of their story has been recorded for future generations.
Highly recommend you have a read. Available in Vietnamese and English.
