Angkor Wat is a magnificent temple complex located in Angkor, near Siem Reap, Cambodia. It is one of the most iconic and well-preserved archaeological sites in Southeast Asia and was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992.

As Ftrip introduces various packages to explore Cambodia and this iconic temple, let us lure you in with these 5 facts you may not know about Angkor Wat.

1. Hidden Bas-Reliefs:
Beneath the visible bas-reliefs that adorn Angkor Wat's walls, there are hidden carvings that were discovered using modern technology. These intricate carvings were not immediately visible due to the layer of soot and smoke accumulated over centuries.

2. Alignment with Cardinal Points:
Angkor Wat is aligned with the cardinal points, a rare feature in Khmer architecture. The main temple is precisely oriented to the west, which is associated with the direction of death in Hindu culture, suggesting a funerary purpose for the site.

3. Secret Chambers:
Recent studies have revealed the presence of hidden chambers within Angkor Wat. The purpose of these chambers remains a mystery, fueling speculation about additional undiscovered aspects of the temple.

4. Original Function:
While Angkor Wat is now a Buddhist temple, it was originally constructed as a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu. The transition from Hinduism to Buddhism occurred during the reign of King Jayavarman VII in the late 12th century.

5. Inscriptions and Libraries:
Angkor Wat features inscriptions on its walls, providing valuable historical information about the Khmer Empire. Additionally, there are indications that the temple complex might have had libraries, though no substantial remains of these structures have been found. The existence of libraries would suggest that Angkor Wat was not only a religious center but also a repository of knowledge.

On December 16th, we're proud to contribute to the launching of the project "Improving the livelihoods of farmers in suburban areas of Hanoi - Agricultural tourism as a business supporting diverse sources of income" implemented by VietED & Ftrip Vietnam: Travel & DMC, with sponsorship from TAF and GSRD. This project has helped farmers in Giang Bien design and deliver agricultural tourism products to more local and international tourists.

Also on December 16th, a signing ceremony on cooperation and exclusive tour sales between Ftrip and VietED took place, and agricultural tools were awarded to 18 farmers participating in the tourism model.

With this development, FTrip continues to enhance sustainability and cultural preservation in our tour packages.

The mountainous region in northern Vietnam, where Fansipan - the roof of Indochina, is located, is a destination not to be missed while traveling to the S-shaped country.

October is seen as not the most ideal month to travel to Vietnam but do you know that there will be decent weather, less crowded in many popular places, especially in the northern regions and the highland center?

𝑵𝒂 𝑯𝒂𝒏𝒈, 𝑻𝒖𝒚𝒆𝒏 𝑸𝒖𝒂𝒏𝒈 - 𝑨𝒏 𝑼𝒏𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝑳𝒂𝒏𝒅

Na Hang is a mountainous district located within the Na Hang and Lam Binh districts of Tuyen Quang province. It's situated about 100km away from the city center. This place boasts diverse natural landscapes with majestic mountains and vast lakes. Due to this, tourism in Na Hang has been growing, making it one of the most attractive destinations in Tuyen Quang. To the best of our knowledge, only a limited number of travel agencies include this remarkable destination in their offerings. As a travel agency focused on tailor-made experiences, we take great pleasure in unveiling the undiscovered beauty of Northern Vietnam for your upcoming adventure.

Covering an area of up to 15,000 hectares, with 8,000 hectares of water bodies, this place has earned the beautiful nickname "Ha Long on Land" because of the picturesque scenery – thousands of shades of green from the rivers, streams, grass, and rocks. Each time of the year has its own unique beauty. Particularly, in a single day, visitors can experience the climate of all four seasons. The mornings are cool and fresh like spring, afternoons are warm and sunny like summer, evenings are cool with a hint of autumn breeze, and nights turn chilly with the true cold of winter.

When is the best time to visit Na Hang?
Influenced by the tropical monsoon climate, Na Hang's weather is divided into two main seasons: summer and winter. Summer lasts from April to September, characterized by hot, humid weather and frequent rain. Winter begins from October to March of the following year, featuring cold, dry weather with less rain and more frost. Generally, each season offers a distinct landscape, so apart from the rainy season in Northern Vietnam, you can visit Na Hang at any time for its beauty.

February - April: Taking place after Tet Nguyen Dan (Lunar New Year), this period emerges as one of Na Hang's most vibrant festival seasons. During these months, you can actively partake in the festivities of the local ethnic communities and relish the sight of the mountains.

May - September: These months offer an optimal time for nature enthusiasts keen on discovering Na Hang's terrain. With the arrival of the rainy season, lakes and waterfalls thrive, augmenting the romantic ambiance of Na Hang. If you're planning a trip in July or August, it's recommended to stay updated on weather forecasts as these months mark the peak of the rainy season.

November - January: Acknowledged as the prime window for a Na Hang visit, these months present a cooler, drier climate. The landscape during this period is adorned with white frost, draping the mountains and hills, creating an atmosphere that's both tranquil and poetic. Ensuring you're equipped with warm clothing is essential for your well-being.

Additionally, there's another milestone to experience in Na Hang, which is the ripe rice season. Each year, the rice season falls on different dates, but usually in September according to the Gregorian calendar.

What to do in Na Hang?

1. Explore the villages:
Apart from the scenic beauty, Na Hang tourism also offers a unique cultural experience with 12 different ethnic groups, where ethnic minorities make up 89.3% of the population, mainly Tày, Dao, and Mông. Each ethnic group contributes to a vivid culture. If you visit during Tet, you might witness festivals like Lồng Tông, Cầu Mùa, Cầu Mùa (Tày ethnic group), Lễ hội Đình (Cao Lan ethnic group), and traditional ceremonies like Lễ cấp sắc, lễ Tết Nhảy (Dao ethnic group), and more. You can also participate in activities like fishing in streams, traditional weaving, basketry, and rice wine fermentation.

2. Discover the beauty of the primeval forest:
Na Hang is home to several famous waterfalls like Khuoi Nhi Waterfall, which stretches about 3 km and consists of multiple layers and small watercourses that regulate and distribute water. Thac Mo (Dream Waterfall) is also a prominent spot in Na Hang. The entrance to the waterfall is a winding path beneath the primeval forest canopy. From the green-blue water surface of Lake Pac Ban atop the Pắc Ban Mountain, soft, elegant cascades flow down the mountain's base. The ecosystem of the primeval forest in Na Hang features ancient forests with various valuable wood species, intertwined vines, and a rich array of plants, colorful butterflies, and birds.

3. Visit the Na Hang Hydropower Plant:
The Na Hang Hydropower Plant, now renamed the Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant, is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Tuyen Quang. Located on the Gam River watershed, it's the fourth-largest hydropower plant in the North after the Sơn La, Hoà Bình, and Lai Châu hydropower plants.

Recommended Northern Vietnam Itineraries:

You might wonder, How much does it cost to apply for a Vietnamese e-visa after August 15th? How long does it take to get a Vietnamese e-visa after August 15th? Where can I check my Vietnamese e-visa?

After the pandemic, Vietnam only provided 30-day single-entry e-visas to individuals from 80 designated countries. However, a recent government resolution has ushered in a transformational change. Under the new policy, the Vietnam Immigration Department will issue e-visas through an electronic transaction system, allowing multiple entries over a 90-day period.

This development marks a considerable leap in convenience and accessibility for international travelers. Thirteen major airports, including Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Cam Ranh, Da Nang, Cat Bi, Can Tho, Phu Quoc, Phu Bai, Van Don, Tho Xuan, D**g Hoi, Phu Cat, and Lien Khuong, have been authorized to facilitate entry and exit for foreign visitors using the e-visa system.

Furthermore, the new e-visa scheme encompasses land and sea borders, with 16 land border gates and 13 sea border gates now accommodating e-visa holders.
Simultaneously, another favorable adjustment has been introduced for citizens of select countries. Citizens of Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Belarus, who are unilaterally exempted from visas by Vietnam, will now be able to extend their stays from 15 to 45 days. This extension applies regardless of passport type or entry purpose.

The Old Town, the peaceful countryside, the lantern-making workshop, the unique cooking class, what else is our favorite of Hoi An?
It is definitely the Bay Mau coconut forest!

The forest is approximately 5 kilometers away from Hoi An's Old Town. And if you travel by car or motorbike, it will take about 15-20 minutes. There is a range of activities and experiences for just to enjoy the area. The highlights Ftrip would recommend are basket boat rides that are guided by skilled local fishermen, followed by coconut handicrafts where you can learn about the art of making handcrafted products such as carving and weaving. Folk performances, fishing and crabbing, and local cuisine would be the next recommendation.

For your best experience in Hoi An, we have written a complete guide that is currently on our website, please check it out here:

Vietnam is introducing an exciting change for tourists with the implementation of a new 3-month visa option, set to begin on 15th August. This marks a considerable extension compared to the previous visa duration of 15-30 days.
Travelers will now have the opportunity to explore the country for an extended period, allowing for a more immersive experience. And it's important to note that applications for this 90-day visa will only be accepted on and after the 15th of August.
