Four seasons
With her street corners and rows of trees, Hanoi is always on my mind. Her streets are a source of pride thanks to their colourful and blissful trees.
Queenly Hanoi is at her best in the autumn. The charming fragrance of flowers spreads through the sky. Milkwood flowers flourish every autumn. I long for a nighttime stroll through quiet streets infused with the lingering scent of milkwood bliss:
“My lady, it’s Hanoi streets
You gave my orchids bliss, you gave me my milkwoods bliss”
(Song “My lady Hanoi streets by Phu Quang)
Apart from milkwood flowers, Hanoi boasts streets where orchid trees spread their peaceful green shade and sweet bliss far and wide. The fragrance of orchid trees on an autumn morning is special to Hanoi. The scent of orchid tree blossoms appears when the first autumn chills prance through the city. Strolling under dense orchid trees lining Dien Bien Phu Street or the end of Tran Phu Street, all my worldly sorrows give way to insatiable nostalgia and longing.
The autumn scatters falling golden leaves. There are early wintry mornings when trees cast their golden leaves onto quiet corners. Bleak, dreary winter days plunge Hanoi into her signature ancient and grave atmosphere. Winter is a time for contemplation and reflection on a fading past. Those old days are evident on roofs blanketed with thick moss under scraggy trees. Cold breezes storm past, leaving bare branches to quiver in winter's wrath. However, these trees still await a new spring with strong vigour.
The spring fairy comes swiftly, scattering little drizzles that barely wet the new clothes of passers-by. Warm early spring days fuel a new vitality and little buds blossom. Spring makes the cityscape of Hanoi more enchanting than ever. February and Tết can be felt with gorgeous peach blossoms that wave their little petals to greet the spring. One day in March, I can’t help but be overwhelmed by the pure white Tonkin legume flowers. Hanoi in March prid
Natural getaways
People living through the Fourth Industrial Revolution face stress at work and in their daily life. The “race against time” makes them crave a relaxing environment far from computer screens full of numbers and letters. They wish to get away from the polluted air, packed roads, and endless red lights of big cities. Seeking a "temporary escape", these people have spawned a new travel trend in Vietnam: camping.
A camping holiday brings people closer to nature thanks to various activities like team-building games, setting up camp, nature-exploration, etc. Each time they set up a tent in a new location, campers experience a different feeling.
I still remember as if it were yesterday how my daughter’s eyes filled with joy and astonishment upon seeing the twinkle of fireflies in the forest for the first time in her life. I will never forget the sight of early morning mist hovering over a lake. It is so exciting to rise at dawn and enjoy the fresh morning air after spending the night in nature. Crowing roosters woke me when I camped among plum trees in Na Ka Valley in Moc Chau – Son La. I woke to the sound of local fishermen's splashing oars hitting Nui Thung Lake in Cao Bang. Meanwhile, in Hon Mot, Phu Quoc, it was the gentle sound of waves and sun shining through casuarina trees that got me out of bed. It feels amazing to gently awaken and stretch, then light a fire from last night's ashes, boil a kettle, and sip a cup of coffee while enjoying the pure morning air.
This S-shaped land has endless places that are perfect for camping, whether for one or two nights or more. In the North, a camping trip among the mountains and waterfalls of Sa Pa (Lao Cai), Moc Chau (Son La), or Trung Khanh (Cao Bang) bring the joy of exploring the region's natural beauty and the excitement of learning about the cultures of highland ethnic minority people. In the Center and South, ocean-lovers can choose camping tours in Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Ninh Thuan and Binh T

❤️ THANKS - WE ARE GIVING BACK ❤️
Thus, the construction of Tung Tau - Yen Minh - Ha Giang is now complete. Lovely school with 24 blocks and a covered playground and full outdoor playground on a 617m2 lot. The main building size is 150m2, and there are 2 classrooms, 1 toilet, 1 kitchen, 1 teacher's room, 1 storeroom, and 1 water tank.
The cost of presents, playgrounds, and school supplies totals little under 150 million VND, with a building budget of more over 600 million VND. This school location has the appearance of a dream institution-brilliant, abundant, and filled with love. The Nhan Ai organization has received a lot of gifts and support, both material and monetary, to accomplish this.
Thank you to the:
- Sao Bien Education Fund (Austria).
- NDTC Charity Fund (belonging to NDTC companies in Vietnam).
- Viet Bay Charity Bun Oc (USA).
- Youth Union of High Command of Guard Police (belonging to Ministry of Public Security).
- The youth union of Binh Duong Department of Planning and Investment.
- V.T.E.A.M Design Consultancy Joint Stock Company.
- A group of 10A Sentia students and nearly 50 benefactors joined hands to get this beautiful school site.
Particularly, students from the F1 group of Nhan Ai and friends attend this school. Children from many different neighborhoods in Hanoi, the United States of America, and France took part in the survey to select the entire school building and organized fundraising initiatives, including selling snail noodles (bún ốc) (F1 USA), clothes (F1 France), autumn paper scrap collection, and selling items at school music events (F1 Sentia). They collaborate to create all of the school's murals.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Hans Peter Glanzer - the ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Vietnam, Mr. Tung Cuong - the head of the Nhan Ai group and chairman of the NDTC Foundation, as well as participants from the groups, local officials, residents of Lao and Chai communes, teachers, and students. Witness the entrancing moments of Hanoi awakening! Allow us to take you along on a special early-morning excursion while you ride pillion in one of our vintage motorcycle or Jeep car.
From the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, we start by watching the sunrise and taking in the daily flag-raising ritual. Then we ride our scooters to the magnificent Long Bien Bridge to take in the morning commute and city sights. Then we make a winding route to Hoan Kiem Lake, the city's focal point. There, with a little ballroom dancing or exercises, we actually get up with the natives.
We should be hungry by this point, and what better way to fuel us for the rest of the day than to eat some freshly prepared "Banh Cuon," a delectable, nutritious steamed rice roll from Northern Vietnam.
Last but not least, we finish our morning with a must-try egg coffee at a nearby cafe.
The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Long Bien Bridge, Hoan Kiem Lake and its surrounds, a local market, a neighborhood breakfast joint, and café are just a few of the highlights for early birds in Hanoi.

Vietnamese Lottery
There are many types of lottery in Việt Nam. The national lottery and Vietlott are two common ones.
National Lottery
Vietnamese lottery first appeared in 1962. It was then spread out quickly all over the nation. Vietnamese lottery is not only for entertainment but also a source of the national budget which helps enhance social welfare.
Each lottery costs VND 10,000. You can buy as many as you wish. The prize is announced every day in the afternoon. You can wait for the live program of the announcement, check online, register to receive the results via text message, or you can find the result in the newspaper the next day. The grand prize can be up to VND 1.5 billion (approximately USD 64,000).
You will have to pay a progressive Personal Income Tax if you are lucky to get a prize of more than VND
10 million per lottery prize.
Vietlott | E-lottery
Vietlott is another kind of Vietnamese lottery which has just been popularized since 2016. The significant difference between Vietlott and the national lottery is the prize money. While the highest prize in the national lottery is VND 1.5 billion, the lowest prize of Vietlott is VND 12 bilion (approximately USD 516,000). And if the jackpot - the special prize - has not been won by anyone in the last announcement, it will be added to the next announcement. That makes the value of the prize increases day by day until there is a winner for the jackpot. And you also need to pay a progressive Personal Income Tax if you win the prize.
In Summary of Vietnamese Lottery
Vietnamese lottery has long been a hobby of many people. Selling lottery is also a way to earn a living for some. It bears a hope of life-changing with a big fortune, or it is simply just a job of the poor, the elderly, or the disabled. Vietnamese lottery, therefore, serves as an essential part of many people's life.
