The spectacular views begin at crossing a river, within the town of Du Gia, where a lush valley is bordered by rugged karst outcrops. From here the route passes through Yen Minh to D**g Van, the northern- most town of Vietnam.

Ha Giang in August is probably the most magical place in Vietnam.

Stay away from most tourists’ radar, Pu Luong Nature Reserve is an area of spectacular beauty 30 miles (50 km) from Mai Chau Valley in Northern Vietnam.

This very fertile region of rich forests 🌳 and rice terraces 🌾 has diverse landscapes, flora, and fauna. Trek the mountainous paths, swim in the rivers, visit traditional markets of the White Thai and Muong, or just relax in the peace and quiet in this idyllic spot.

Did you know that besides Ha Long in the North, You can also go for an overnight cruise 🚢 in the South via the Mekong River system?

Mekong Delta is the ‘rice bowl’ 🌾 of Vietnam 🇻🇳 , the delta is carpeted in a dizzying variety of greens. It’s a water world that moves to the rhythms of the mighty Mekong, where boats, houses, and markets float upon the innumerable rivers, canals, and streams that criss-cross the landscape like arteries.

The bustling commerce of its towns contrasts sharply with the languid, almost soporific pace of life in the countryside. Mangrove forests teem with a wealth of birdlife and bristle with the remains of Viet Cong 🪖 bunkers, ornate Khmer pagodas, and Buddhist temples reaching for the sky.

This is definitely a must-do experience while visiting this region of Vietnam

Tip for eating 🍽 in Vietnam* 😋

Showcasing fresh and vibrant flavours, excellent street food and elegant restaurants in restored colonial architecture, Vietnam is packed with superb opportunities for eating out. Cookery classes, market visits and walking tours make it easy to discover the country’s culinary heritage. Generally the more local the place is, the tastier the food; a place that bustles with Vietnamese is always a good sign. 👍

Classic trek in Sapa. 🥾

Did you know that the biggest reason to come to Sa Pa is the opportunity to trek through ethnic minority villages and enjoy overnight homestays and hospitality in local stilt houses, especially since government restrictions have been lifted?

Several outlying villages – Cat Cat, Ta Van, Sin Chai, Lao Chai and Ta Phin – make pleasant and relatively easy treks.

Lan Ha Bay is an extended part of Ha Long Bay from Cat Ba island. It is less developed than Ha Long Bay while there is more authenticity to it than its competitor.

Floating villages, fish-farms, canvas and paddle fisherman/fisherwomen can still be seen and legit there.

What is your thought on the suspension of these settlements, removal of these natives and locals here from the government given the interests for safety and comfortablity of tourists? Would you contribute to that impact to the locals and communities if you are traveling here.

October 10th, 1954 - Hanoi Liberation Day.

After a year long meeting, diplomats from several nations – including the United States, the Soviet Union, China, France and Great Britain – attended a conference in the Swiss city of Geneva. This led to the creation of the Geneva Accords, which outlined a roadmap for peace and reunification in Vietnam. Even though The Geneva Accords brought about the French withdrawal in Vietnam, it is the start of the American involvement in Vietnam the the period after this time is called the American war accordant to Vietnamese history book.

Did you know that the lead of the North Vietnam Delegation was “Madam Binh” - one of the well known feminist politicians in Vietnam during the war.

A conveniently close getaway from Danang, this former French hill station provides a cool escape from the coast. Set on top of a mountain at an altitude of 4,593 ft (1,400 m), it is often shrouded in mist. Some of the 1920s French colonial villas here have been converted into guesthouses and hotels.

Did you know that the chief attractions are a cable car, which has the world’s longest non-stop single-track system, an amusement park, and hiking trails to waterfalls?. A striking bridge, Cau Vang (Golden Bridge), opened in2018, emerging from the trees in the Thien Thai gardens to loop round the mountain. The eight-span, ribbon-like bridge is held aloft by giant stone hands, and offers fantastic panoramic views over the Truong Son Mountains and Danang, with the South China Sea in the distance.

The last village on Ho Chi Minh Trail before we entered Laos 🇱🇦

💡 it is a complex network of hidden tracks and paths of about 12,427 miles (20,000 km), the Ho Chi Minh Trail, or Duong Truong Son, was used as a strategic connection between North and South Vietnam during the Vietnam War (1957– 75). Built on simple tracks that had existed for centuries, the trail provided logistical support to Communist forces in the south, supplying them with weapons, food, and legions of North Vietnamese troops (NVA). The labyrinthine trail started in the north near Vinh. From there, it wound its way west through the Truong Suong Range, before snaking along the Vietnam/Laos border and crossing into Laos and Cambodia. It finally entered South Vietnam at various obscure points.

While the majority of Vietnamese are Confucius, There is a small group of Vietnamese that practice Buddhism 🕉. This enlightened belief has been around for thousand years. As a consequence, some of the buddhist pagodas are as old as the origin of the practices. 🙏

Buddhist pagodas are often full of people come and pray on half full and full moon of the month. 🌝Most people come and practice vegan for the day with the monks. This photo taken in But Long Pagoda, one of the most beautiful pagoda in Saigon.

Imperial Citadel was one of the prominent highlights of Hue and was where the royal family of Nguyen dynasty lived👑. Spend your entire morning till noon exploring it. One interesting fact, the Imperial Citadel was actually modeled based on the Forbidden Palace in Beijing, China! Pay an entrance fee and you could enrich yourself with knowledge and culture...

Ha Giang city and Hoang Su Phi District are gateways to the outstanding mountain scenery of Vietnam’s extreme north respectively. But the journey between these two mountain districts is just as thrilling as the landscape which lies beyond them.

This motorbike route straddles the Chinese border, carving a meandering course over mountain ranges and along river valleys. Largely on small roads that have only recently been blasted out of the mountainsides, this road trip is a slow crawl through some of the remotest parts of Ha Giang.

Dramatic scenery, fascinating border towns, ethnic minority markets, and lush farmland abound. This is a route to be taken slowly with experience – there’s hardly a kilometre without a hairpin bend – and with plenty of time to allow for unforeseen circumstances, such as bad weather and landslides, which regularly block the way. This road trip is the perfect for riders wanting to do something different and extreme without seeing anyone or any tourists at all.

Ban Gioc Waterfall is one of Vietnam’s most impressive natural sights. Located in the northeastern province of Cao Bang province, the falls are 30 metres high and 300 metres across, making Ban Gioc the widest waterfall in the country. The falls occur on the Quay Son River, a beautiful jade-blue body of water flowing from China through a pastoral landscape of rice fields and bamboo groves surrounded by limestone pinnacles. Despite improved road access and public transportation connections, and the popularity of several recent viral drone videos showcasing the majesty of the falls, Ban Gioc is still a relatively off-the-beaten-path sight. Mass tourism has yet to arrive and, outside of weekends and public holidays, there’s rarely more than a trickle of foreign and domestic visitors.

With a population of just under 530,000 people in the entire province, and few Western visitors, it will feel like you have the road to yourself. Admire the spectacular mountain scenery and ethnic minory villages that dot the hillsides as we drive along gently winding roads that cut through wide valleys and hug the rivers' edges. During our stops, take advantage of the bicycle trails, kayak and swim in the clear, cool water of the many ponds, streams, and lakes.
