The whole mountain was covered in vibrant pink and red azalea blooms, creating the most magical landscape against the misty peaks. Hiking up felt even more rewarding with each turn revealing bursts of color and breathtaking views. Reaching the 'Roof of Indochina' surrounded by these stunning flowers was truly unforgettable.

Michelin Guide published an article suggesting a two-day tour in Ha Noi with a range of delicious street foods and interesting tourist attractions.
According to the Michelin Guide, Ha Noi is the ideal city when it comes to street food. To survive and develop, the eateries here have overcome countless taste tests, conquering the famous gourmets.

During 2 days in Ha Noi, diners can explore a variety of delicious dishes such as pho, banh cuon (steamed rice rolls), cha ca or bun cha.

Day 1

There is nothing more perfect than starting a new day with beef pho - one of the most favourite breakfast dishes of Hanoians in particular and Vietnamese people in general.

Located on Au Trieu Street, Hoan Kiem District, Pho Au Trieu (or Pho Tu Lun) is a familiar address for famous gourmet diners in the old town, also a MICHELIN Guide 2024 Bib Gourmand restaurant on a street which runs parallel to St. Joseph Cathedral. The pho at the restaurant has a cloudy, fatty, thick and quite rich broth in the style of Nam Dinh pho, not sweet, light and clear like traditional Ha Noi pho.

If you want to enjoy Pho Au Trieu, you should go early because the restaurant can quickly sell out due to the large number of customers.

To fill your stomach for lunch, diners can try the eel vermicelli specialty at D**g Thinh vermicelli - a restaurant awarded the Bib Gourmand 2024 for its delicious food and reasonable prices. The restaurant has been serving glass noodles with eel, greens, crushed peanuts and deep-fried shallots for more than four decades.

During the rest of the afternoon, visitors can look out for Bach Ma Temple, one of Ha Noi’s oldest places of worship, as well as Thuoc Bac street, where they can find decades-old shops selling traditional medicine.

According to the prestigious guide, tourists can finish their day with Chả Cá, a pan-fried fish with turmeric, noodles, and greens cooked right at the table at Chả Cá Thăng Long at 6B Duong Thanh street. The eatery is so popular it even has establishments on the same street.

Day 2

Besides beef noodle soup, banh cuon is also a popular breakfast dish in Ha Noi. Steamed wet rice paper rolls with minced pork, at Bánh Cuốn Bà Xuân restaurant to begin their second day in Ha Noi.

Coming to Ha Noi, diners cannot miss the famous bun cha. Tuyết Bún Chả 34, a MICHELIN Guide 2024 Bib Gourmand street food joint, serves extraordinarily generous portions of rice vermicelli noodles, grilled pork, and fresh green herbs. This bustling eatery is close to Truc Bach Lake, Tran Quoc Pagoda and Quan Thanh Temple, all important sights with long histories. Spend the afternoon exploring, and don’t forget to have a drink by the water at sunset.

At the end of the culinary journey in Ha Noi, tourists can try seafood at Oc Di Tu, which serves a dizzying variety of high-quality seafood delicacies in basic surroundings, such as prawns, clams, and cockles. MICHELIN inspectors were particularly impressed with the huge melo melo sea snails grilled with scallions and fried garlic and Venus clams with lemongrass, chilli and pineapple.

Canadian Travel magazine posted an article on their destinations Asia & Pacific, recommending 4 Off-Beat Things to Do on Your Trip to Vietnam.
It stated that Vietnam is a dream place of a tropical paradise in every sense of the word, embracing dramatic landscape, beautiful beaches, the mesmerising Mekong Delta, and unique culture.
This charming country also offers an abundance of exciting off-beat experiences that go beyond the usual mundane touch-and-go kind of travel. Below are best off-beat travel experiences that you must try when in Vietnam.

1. Do a Bike Tour in Vietnam
Vietnam is one of the countries that favour cycling. From North to South, travellers can enjoy many amazing cycling routes, with a variety of terrains. In the North, do a bike tour on dramatic hills, through the mountains to refresh the minds, or cycling along the Central coastal cities, admiring amazing scenery and some of the prettiest beaches in Hue and Hoi An. Heading to Mekong delta, in southern Vietnam, you can create your own itinerary combining a bike tour and a tryst into nearby Cambodia.

2. Go Hiking in the Sa Pa Valley
With mountain terrains spreading across the country, Vietnam is an excellent place to go hiking. Located high up in the mountains of northwest Vietnam, Sapa is a paradise for adventure lovers. Conquering the Fan Si Pan should be included in the must-to do list of any adventure travellers. Standing at an altitude of 3,143 metres above the sea level, Fan Si Pan is worth the try. Along the hike, free your soul and vision to the beautiful, gorgeous terraced rice fields and interact with ethnic minorities such as Hmong people and learn about their tribal culture.
The climate in Sapa is pleasant, and occasionally, it even snows in the winter. Incredible hiking routes in Sapa include: Binh Lu Valley to Pa Pe village; Muong Hoa to Lao Chai to Ta Van; and Ca Nhay waterfalls and Ban Ho village.

3. Go Kayaking in the Lan Ha Bay
If Ha Long Bay is too famous to travel, nearby lies the Lan Ha Bay, a spectacular and less crowded bay to enjoy. Located in northeast Vietnam, Lan Ha Bay has sparkling emerald waters, and numerous limestone karst mountains topped with tropical rainforests, offering a truly mesmerising experience.
Cat Ba Island - a UNESCO World Heritage Site located here. Let’s explore the unique ecology in several islands, as well as Cat Ba National Park, where the critically endangered Cat Ba Langur. Numerous kayaking tour operators are waiting to serve you by the bay.

4. Do a Luxury Cruise in the Ha Long Bay/ Lan Ha Bay
Don’t leave Vietnam without taking a cruise tour on Ha Long Bay. The image of boats serenely floating in the Ha Long Bay while the sun goes down behind stunning limestone mountains might perhaps stay in visitors’ heads for a long time.
Hop on a 2-3 day luxury cruise and explore a prehistoric cave, a floating fishing village, visiting a pearl farm and a small island where you swim along the beach. Kayaking, snorkelling, and scuba diving are all available in the bay.
