According to Vietnam Airlines, from 15th June 2023, direct flights from Ha Noi to Melbourne will be operated by Airbus A350 aircraft with a frequency of 2 flights/week on Thursdays and Sundays.

Thereby, flight number VN779 departs from Ha Noi at 00:05 am, lands in Melbourne at 12:30 pm; VN778 departs from Melbourne at 15:00 pm and lands in Ha Noi at 21:35 pm.

From now till 31st December 2023, Vietnam Airlines will implement incentives with round-trip prices from only USD 645 (equivalent to VND 15,237,000 including taxes and fees).

Additionally, Vietnam Airlines will change itineraries free of charge for passengers who purchased tickets before 30th April 2023 from Ha Noi to Melbourne connecting via Ho Chi Minh City to fly directly from Ha Noi to Melbourne.

All routes to Australia use modern wide-body Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The highlight of this aircraft line is outstanding comfort with airy space, higher cabin humidity and pressure, wider windows, and comfortable reclining seats.

In 2019, Australia is Vietnam's 12th largest aviation market with a total capacity of nearly 900,000 passengers, of which Vietnam Airlines transports more than 400,000 passengers. In 2022, in the context that a number of areas in the world have not yet fully recovered, the number of visitors to and from Australia has risen to the 8th position among the largest markets of Vietnam. With an impressive recovery speed, Australia is currently ranked 4th among Vietnam Airlines' most important markets.

In the first 4 months of 2023, there were more than 130,000 Australian visitor arrivals to Vietnam, becoming one of the key markets of the tourism industry. This new direct flight will contribute to attract more Australian visitors to Vietnam in the upcoming time.

Bamboo Airways to launch Hanoi - Ca Mau direct flights

Bamboo Airways on Friday started selling tickets for its direct flights between Hanoi and the southernmost province of Ca Mau with prices from 32.6 USD per ticket.

The airline will operate three return flights on the route per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from the end of next month. It takes just more than two hours to travel from Hanoi to Ca Mau province by 98-seat Embraer E190 aircraft.

Nguyen Ngoc Trong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bamboo Airways, said Ca Mau Airport will be the last destination to complete Bamboo Airways’ domestic flight network connecting all of the nation’s 22 airports.

According to the airline's survey, the Hanoi-Ca Mau route is one of the longest road trips in the country, with a distance of more than 1,900 km. Previously, passengers had to travel for days by road and waterway, or by connecting flights.

Ca Mau province is home to diverse fauna, especially birds, which makes it an attractive eco-tourism destination for domestic and international travelers.

Surrounded by sea on three sides, the coastal province is also home to numerous national historical and cultural relics, while the combination of ethnic cultures creates abundant festivals and cultural features such as floating markets and regattas.

VinWonders waterpark
When it comes to entertainment, be sure to catch the daily shows within the park. Later on, grab a seat for a spectacular water fountain and laser light show timed to music.

Sun World Ba Na Hills

Vinwonders Nha Trang dome
Within the amusement park, take your pick from classic rides such as roller coasters and carousels, go for a spin on Vietnam’s tallest ferris wheel. CHRISTMAS DAY
24 Dec 2022 - 25 Dec 2022

Vietnam’s celebrations are similar to those around the globe. Families of all religions gather for gift exchange and a special dinner. The Christian community attends midnight mass, returning home to chicken soup, or for the wealthy, turkey and Christmas pudding.

In terms of public celebrations, Christmas Eve is particularly popular. In HCMC and Hanoi, the areas around Catholic cathedrals become pedestrian zones for the evening. Cars are banned, and the streets fill with young Vietnamese families sharing in the celebrations and goodwill from the holiday.

Back in time with the Hoi An Memories Show

The Hoi An Impression Theme Park is Vietnam’s answer to a Renaissance fair. It is one part museum and one part amusement park, blurring the lines between education and performance art. The entertainment extravaganza that is the Hoi An Memories Show is its headliner.

The Memories Show runs every evening except Tuesdays, from 7:30 to 8:45pm. The Theme Park opens at 5pm and is an interactive production unto itself. The park is a staggering medley of historical architecture and miniature themed villages, as well as mini-shows and creative workshops that all collectively offer an immersive experience of Old Hoi An with a depth and completeness that Hoi An’s Ancient Town, with its one-dimension of temporality, simply cannot offer.

Hoi An Impressions Theme Park
Enter through the gates of the Thanh Chiem Palace, a relic that hearkens back to the lavish abundance of the Nguyen Dynasty. Past the citadel gates, facsimiles of five traditional artisan villages present the five basic elements that keep the universe in balance: copper stands in for metal, carpentry for wood, pottery for earth, lantern-making for fire, and fishing for water.

Continue through past fusions of Vietnamese, Japanese, and European architectural styles deeper into the park, where different areas offer different themes. A commercial trading port complete with shops and stalls and bustling merchants represents the international trade of the 17th and 18th centuries. A Japanese village pays homage to the demographics of the time, when a Japanese community left their mark on Hoi An’s culture in the form of architecturally distinct buildings and bridges.

Interactive shows pop up on different corners every few minutes. Performers tell folktales and reproduce ancient myths of gods and goddesses, lords and princesses, tragic love stories, and acts of incredible heroism. Many of these are accentuated by sound effects and 3D projection mapping technology as well as visually stunning backdrops.

Hoi An Memories Show
The Hoi An Memories Show is the centerpiece, featuring more than 500 actors and dancers performing 400 years of history on a 25,000 square meters outdoor stage.

The show begins in the 16th century. Hoi An is a rural village, represented by a single farmer’s home and his family’s humble life. The city erupts around them, and the show progresses through the centuries from there. We watch Hoi An transform from a country town into a powerful central trading port in the South-east Asia when there were many ships from China, Japan, the UK, the USA… Royalty is crowned and married, foreign merchants arrive to conquer and trade in spice and crafts, lanterns begin to adorn the streets like paper constellations.

Though the show presents major historical moments, the real magic in its delicate representations of ordinary daily life. Hundreds of actors go about the business of living as it’s been done for hundreds of years. There are no dialogues or scripts. There is no language. The city itself is the main character and the narrator is the thread of time.

As the lighting shifts and changes to illustrate years and seasons, it is impossible not to realize that each spectator is also a character. This moment is a plot point in the script. Our present tense, utterly inseparable from the memory of its past.

Guests can join artisans’ workshops like apprentices to try out lantern-making, pottery, or loom weaving, and then keep the craft as a souvenir. The Japanese village offers tea ceremonies and a ninja school. People of all ages will enjoy dozens of traditional Vietnamese childrens’ games. Some are still played by school children today; others have been given away to the channels of time.

Best for tropical bliss: JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, Phu Quoc

You may have seen pictures of the Shell Pool at the JW Marriott in Phu Quoc, but for real water babies, the resort’s glorious Sand Pool -- overlooking a pristine sweep of Khem Beach -- is where it’s at. Like everything in this beachside wonderland designed by Bill Bensley, the swimming pool is a fanciful and luxurious experience, but it’s the tropical touches, frangipani trees, and flowering bushes that make swimming here simply delightful.

Ho Chi Minh City Street Food
Ho Chi Minh City’s cuisine is at its best on plastic chairs in tiny alleys. There’s more street food here than anything else, ranging from little popup carts transported by motorbike to enormous streetside eateries with tables and chairs consuming the sidewalk end-to-end.

Snails
Snails are the ultimate street food. They pair brilliantly with cold beer, and need to be eaten one by one, skillfully plucked from their shells. It’s fair to say snails serve a munch-function much like peanuts in Western bars, but instead of being dry and salty they are boiled, steamed, grilled, or sauteed, then slurped from rich and spicy sauces. Eating snails is a messy ordeal, worth every stain and napkin.

Banh mi
Next to pho, banh mi is perhaps the best-known Vietnamese dish. The iconic sandwich is said to have originated in Ho Chi Minh City and has since made its way around the world, but is prepared very differently in different parts of Vietnam. Because the baguette is the centerpiece of the dish, a good banh mi is dependent on the quality of bread.

The soft and crunchy baguette is first covered with pate and chili sauce, then stuffed with a variety of meats, fresh herbs, and pickled vegetables, usually carrot and daikon. The sauce is mandatory, and ties together the salty, sweet, and spicy flavors. The convenient delicacy is eaten at any time of the day and sold everywhere at absolutely any time. Try banh mi from a few different sellers to get used to the subtle differences.

Com Tam
Com Tam is perhaps the most essential Saigonese dish, a city staple found on nearly every street. The smell of barbecued pork wafts from com tam eateries to perfume busy streets and lure in hungry passers-by at all hours of the day.

Marinated pork ribs are slow-grilled over low heat for hours, allowing the flavor to absorb evenly while the meat remains juicy and tender. The ribs are then served over “broken rice” (rice that has been broken or fractured during harvest or processing), paired with an omelet, egg rolls, and sausages, and topped with onion fat or pork grease. Be sure to add a hefty serving of fresh and pickled vegetables for the full experience.

Hu tieu
Pho gets all the acclaim as Vietnam’s national soup, but hu tieu gives pho a run for its money. Pho is best in Hanoi, where northerners have spent a hundred years perfecting the recipe, while hu tieu is best in Ho Chi Minh City.

As with all Vietnamese soups, the best bits are in the broth. Hu tieu broth is simmered for hours with pork bones, dried squid and shrimp, and root vegetables. It’s a delicate, slightly sweet, clear broth, and is usually topped with boiled eggs and shrimp as well as pork every which-way: ground, lean, liver, intestines, and tongue. Different hu tieu eateries have different toppings, but these are the most common. Add a fistful of lettuce, bean sprouts, and scallions for balance.

Hu tieu can be served as a dry salad as well as a soup. When served as a salad, the broth comes in a bowl on the side – it’s the backbone of the dish.
