Dừa Sáp- Sáp coconut,
A speciality from Ben Tre in the South of Vietnam.

This coconut is called a wax-coconut. It is waxy-like in the middle and the white part is also very soft that you can scoop up with a spoon. The texture is pudding-like, milky coconut flavor (well it’s a coconut) . The flavor is very light.
If you have a sweet tooth you can add in sugar or honey. Local people like it straight (chilled). Considering pastries here probably have about 1/3 amount of sugar compared to the States.

Not all chambers of coconut are available. Sometimes 3 or 4 chambers of coconut have 1 Sap coconut.

So I thought doing a 3-day prelim in a tent in middle of nowhere was a “chic” idea. Apparently my ancestors had done it for over thousand years. They had to carry the whole thing by themselves on their shoulders. No fancy lightweight equipment, so of course everything’s tiny. Yes, I am much bigger than an average Vietnamese, the little kid about 8 years old in the pic can be used for size comparison. Not sure if I’d survive in this tent for 3 days let alone taking a 3- day exam.

[Vietnamese Ethnic Groups’ Culture Day to be held in mid-April]
The Vietnamese Ethnic Groups’ Culture Day will take place at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi’s suburban Son Tay township from April 14-19.
Themed "Colours of Vietnamese ethnic groups’ cultures", this year's event will draw the participation of over 200 people from 17 ethnic communities of 15 provinces and cities nationwide, along with many scientists, researchers and artists.
The program aims to honor the Vietnamese Ethnic Groups’ Culture Day of (April 19) while introducing visitors to the culture, customs and practices of ethnic minorities.

Ngày Văn hóa các dân tộc Việt Nam sẽ diễn ra tại Làng Văn hóa - Du lịch các dân tộc Việt Nam, thị xã Sơn Tây, ngoại thành Hà Nội từ ngày 14 đến 19/4.
Với chủ đề “Sắc màu văn hóa các dân tộc Việt Nam”, sự kiện năm nay thu hút sự tham gia của hơn 200 người thuộc 17 cộng đồng dân tộc của 15 tỉnh, thành phố trong cả nước cùng nhiều nhà khoa học, nhà nghiên cứu, văn nghệ sĩ.
Chương trình nhằm tôn vinh Ngày Văn hóa các dân tộc Việt Nam (19/4), đồng thời giới thiệu đến du khách những nét văn hóa, phong tục, tập quán của đồng bào các dân tộc.
