NEW NOTICE FROM IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENR

1. immigration officers will allow to issue TRC when expats have a work permit/ Or TRC invester when the company have the real capital contribution papers, eligible cases as prescribed by Law
2. Tourists visa (Type: DL) only issue an exit with plane ticket for leave VN, issued 15 days to exit only. Can not stay in VN, can not convert to business visa.
3. Business visa (type: DN): Can extend DN visa with the right company which guarantee entry to VN but experts stayed in VN less than 1 year, immigration will still issue 3 months extension.
4. Different company or the right company, but they entered Vietnam for more than 1 year, those who will be issued a 15-day visa to exit
5. For expats who hold Visa exemption 5 years - officers will extend 3 months only even you have Na5 form form local police.
- All passports was submitted, immigration will return them or issue 15 days exit visa.

🔴 NOTICE ABOUT TOURIST VISA EXTENSION
I/ For those who entered on March 1st, 2020 and using automatic extension but the real visa is expired.
✅ Need to exit before 15 Jan.
✅ After 15 Jan, if not exit, need to get a letter from embassy to be able to get a normal exit visa without penality.
✅ Otherwise, you would be considered overstayed.
2. Tourists entered before March 1st, 2020
✅ option 1: switch into business visa
✅ Option 2: buy a ticket to have exit visa
✅ Option 3: if your visa is not about to expire, kindly wait for updated situation as policies keep changing.

NOTICE ABOUT “AUTOMATIC STAY EXTENSION”
1. Foreigners who entered Vietnam on visa waivers, e-visas or tourist visas from March 1st, 2020 are entitled to automatic stay extension until April 30st, 2021 and can depart from Vietnam without having apply for stay extension. For those who entered Vietnam before March 1st, 2020, the same automatic stay extension until April 30st, 2021 can be considered, subject to provision of proof that the person was stranded in Vietnam due to Covid-19, accompanied by a diplomatic Note (with Vietnamese translation) from relevant diplomatic missions, or a written document from relevant Vietnamese authorities confirming that the person was required to undergo mandatory quarantine or treatment for Covid-19, or advice of other force majeure. The person is required to present the diplomatic Note or written document on departure from Vietnam.

2. During “automatic stay extension” period, foreigners are required to complete temporary residence and health status declaration.

3. Foreigners who are not subject to Paragraph 1 or violate Vietnamese laws will be treated according to applicable laws of Vietnam.

Notice on Automatic stay extension
1. CONTINUE to implement “automatic stay extension” for foreign nationals until December 31st, 2020 (subjects and forms prescribed in paragraph 1 of the Diplomatic Note No 6345/QLXNC dated May, 19th, 2020 which was sent to Embassies/Consulates). During “automatic stay extension” period, foreigners are required to complete temporary residence and health status declaration.

1️⃣ Foreigners who entered Vietnam on visa waiver, e-visa or tourist visa from March 1st, 2020 are entitled to automatic visa extension until September 30th, 2020 and can depart from Vietnam without having to extend their stay permit. Many clients misunderstood that they can take free automatic extension until 30 June and from then they still can do extension again and stay in country.
Answer:
- If you enter from 1 March, you can take free automatic extension until 30 June, But have to leave before or by 30 June
- If u you still want to stay after 30 June, you still need to do visa extension before expirity of the visa as normally

‼️ OFFICIAL VISA UPDATE ‼️ 18.05.2020

As stated by the Official Site of Vietnam Immigration
(english version isn't available so I had to translate everything and made it as easy to understand as possible for everyone)

1️⃣ If you entered Vietnam with Visa Exemptions, E-Visas or Tourist Visas from 01.03.2020 onwards your permit will be “automatically extended” until 30.06.2020, and you can exit Vietnam anytime before that without having to apply for visa extension (meaning if you leave Vietnam after your expiry date, but before 30.06.2020, there will be no charge for overstaying)

If you entered BEFORE 01.03.2020 the case will be the same if you have proofs that you were “helpless” such as:
1/ Stuck due to flight cancellations, your country was under lockdown, etc., confirmed with official documents provided by your Embassies/Consulates.
2/ Your visa ends during your quarantine or your Covid treatment in Vietnam, etc. that made you unable to take actions, confirmed with official documents by authorized Vietnamese government offices.
(These documents will be required if you exit after your expiry)

2️⃣ In order for said permits to be "automatically extended" , you must have residency registration and health declaration (following government standards)

3️⃣ If you don't meet the conditions in section 1, you must follow the regular rules (for example Business visa holders still have to extend)

4️⃣ If you have any inquiries regarding this matter or other problems, feel free to contact the immigration directly via their hotline (0243.9387320) for support.

☝️ Most people might think this is very good news, that they can avoid the extension expense now, but please keep in mind it's not that simple to meet all conditions, it's not easy to gather all the necessary papers, so be careful, if you fail to follow procedures you might still be charged for overstay.

NOTICE FOR SUSPENSION OF IMMIGRATION PROCEDURE! (HA NOI)

Please be advised that Immigration Department has been suspending immigration procedure for Vietnamese, foreign agencies, organization and individuals from 23th to 29th April 2020 (except for emergency cases)

However, if you want to secure your stay, you can apply for agents from now on. They will reserve your renewal seat in advance and submit it as soon as the Immigration Department reopens. The duration of stay on the visa will be calculated from the expiry date of the visa, the visa period does not count on the date of submission, so you do not need to worry about the issue of losing your deadline.
