BUMTHANG

Located just to the east of central Bhutan, on the far side of the Black Mountains, lies Bumthang, a region home to the four valleys of Chumey, Choekhor, Tang and Ura, and which until the 1970s, was only accessible by mule and foot trails. Bumthang's fascinating valley is the spiritual heartland of the nation and home to some of the oldest Buddhist temples and monasteries. With varying altitudes from 2,600 to 4,000 metres, the beauty of the area is renowned. Rich and fertile high lands covered mostly in pine forests, are known for their abundant buckwheat ,honey, cheese , apple & yathra (woolen material). Not many travelers make it to Bumthang, which makes it more special. The Bumthang district is where Buddhism was first introduced to Bhutan and where the legendary saint Pema Lingpa was born, to whom the Bhutanese royalty trace their descent.

Bumthang is the perfect destination for multi-generational holidays & is one of the best places in Bhutan for walking, owing to its broad U-shaped valleys and gently sloping mountains, so is suitable for all levels of fitness .With beautiful natural and cultural environment in which families can bond and make unforgettable memories. Bhutan is the only nation in the world to measure its wealth with Gross National Happiness (GNH), and families can explore this wonderful concept.

Thimphu,The capital of the tiny Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan, is a stronghold of traditional Bhutanese art, architecture and culture. Thimphu is Bhutan’s largest city and is just an hour’s drive from Paro.
Allthough Thimphu is considered as the country’s most modern city, it has retained the unique character of a Bhutanese town with many restaurants and internet cafés sit alongside old fortresses, monasteries and forests.
Thimphu is also the only national capital city in the world to not have any traffic lights. Visitors can embark on beautiful scenic hikes, travel along adventure-filled cycling routes, explore the grand Thimphu Dzong that houses the throne room of the King

Isolated yet unforgettable- Kingdom of Bhutan
For much of the 20th century, the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan was all but forgotten by the world; indeed, in a country where television has only been allowed since 1999, the modern age passed much of Bhutan by. A land of deep valleys and dzong (fortresses) perched on precarious peaks, it is one of the most isolated and least developed nations in the world. Its continued isolation is no longer an accident: Bhutan's traditional culture is strictly protected and visitors carefully regulated. In the only country in the world where to***co sales are banned and the capital has no traffic lights, the opportunity to experience a place time forgot isn't a vacation, it's a privilege.
Mountains are blanketed with evergreen forests and dotted with Buddhist temples, valleys are sliced by glacial rivers and the piney air is delicious and clean. And the Bhutanese people that make Bhutan Holidays so special – they are extremely quick to laugh, and they’ve even been ranked number one in the world for Gross National Happiness!
