Banh Tet La Cam (Banh Tet with Cam Leaves) originates from Can Tho. The main ingredients are usually glutinous rice, washed fresh Cam leaves, green beans, fatty meat, salted eggs.

Glutinous rice must be soaked in water for about 6 hours, then drained, mixed with water of Cam leaves so that the purple color is evenly absorbed in each grain.

The salty taste of salted eggs blends with the sticky rice, contributing to the characteristic flavor. Every Tet holiday, Banh Tet La Cam leaf cake is one of the items that attract customers in the South.

Exploring Hoi An Old Town in Quang Nam, Vietnam
When mentioning to Quang Nam, people often think of Hoi An ancient town. Visitors will experience the exciting life, enjoy the scenery and the specialities of Hoi An, Quang Nam Province.

One of the beautiful places to visit in Quang Nam selected by many tourists is Hoi An ancient town. The old town is a typical example of a traditional Southeast Asian seaport during the 16th -17th centuries.

Popular architecture in Hoi An is the long house or two floors with the narrow width, and very long depth. Most houses are made in the form of two roofs. The main house and the second house are not the same roofs but connected each other.

When walking around the old town, visitors will see the very simple life of the local people, the paper flowers covering the wooden houses, or people passing on the river. All are also very peaceful.

Coming to Hoi An, tourists will feel the different lifestyle: simple but bustling. If you come here on the full moon day, you can watch the lanterns shimmering around the streets.

In addition, visitors can visit the nice bridge, that is the Pagoda Bridge. The bridge marks many historical landmarks over time. The bridge is also called the Japanese Bridge or Lai Vien Kieu Bridge. The bridge was built by Japanese businessmen in the 17th century.

According to the legend, the bridge is considered a sword hitting the back of the monster named Namazu so that the monster cannot move. When it moves, it causes cause the earthquake. In 1653, the temple was erected, connecting to the bridge, making more power on the monster. And, the local people called it the Temple Bridge.

When visiting the ancient town, visitors can enjoy delicious local food of Hoi An such as Quang noodles, brown noodles with pork and greens ( Cao lầu), egg noodle soup with wontons(mì hoành thánh), wrapping cake ( bánh bao) or Vietnamese bread.
