🌎𝙋𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙉𝙝𝙖 𝙫𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙚.
- Population is about 3000 people.
- Phong Nha only a name of small village but it is very beautiful and famous landscape so everyone took name to call for the whole area
+ “Phong” mean “mountain top”, “Nha” mean “raised up”. It depend on terrain that there are many big mountain which was raised up in this area so they called “Phong Nha”.
- Flooding is annual here in Phong Nha, its usually starts from September to November. On average, about 4,5 storms affect to the area every year. This area has been flooded and storms for many days. Therefore, local people will build their house with 2-3 floors to move everything from water raising.
- About 10-15 years ago, Phong Nha was very poor village. 100% of local man went to the jungle for hunting, logging and bomb collecting to save their life. They hunt tigers, elephants, monkeys, pangolins... if you were here that time, you could see only 3-4 homestays or restaurants. They found many caves and caverns here but they didn’t dare get futher because they didn’t have any knowdlege and experience to explore the caves. Later in 1990, British Cave Research Association came here to survey, local people led them to the cave’s entrances. Tourism started developing, there are many jobs for them. They opened restaurants, homestays, hotels. If someone can speak English, they become tour guides, receptions, sailors… if they can’t, they will be a porters, carriers or drivers,… Their life are better and the environment will be protected.
