Sapa Sisters Trekking Adventures

Sapa Sisters Trekking Adventures We are Sapa Sisters, an ethnic minority Hmong trekking group based in the beautiful northern mountai Hope to see you in Sapa!
(56)

We're Hmong trekking guides from Lao Chai, a small village down in the Muong Hoa valley near the town Sapa. We grew up in these mountains and know the trails inside out. Our work is to guide people around this beautiful landscape and give them a good time. We prefer working independently and we're very experienced when it comes to guiding people.

Hi friends! Sadly, we are not able to keep our Sapa office any longer. It’s very sad as we had invested a lot in renovating and made it our perfect home base, where we welcomed our guests and also hanged out with each other. It was something we were proud of and had planned and saved for a long time. Now we are back where we were many years ago.

That said, we still have what is the most important, all fantastic guides! We will build up our company once again! We have done it before, and we will do it again! Who needs an office when you have beautiful mountains!

Once again Sapa Sisters is forced to reach out for financial support. From being a healthy and growing business in the beginning of 2020 our revenue has now dropped by 98%. It's a very difficult time right now.

We have stretched every D**g and Dollar as long as we could but now the generous funding we received from our last crowdfunding campaign, is gone.

We are sensitive to that many people all around the world are struggling right now. Hopefully we will soon have an effective vaccine that will be available for enough people to stop Covid 19. We just need to push through a little while longer!

With that in mind, we once again ask you, our friends and supporters, for more help; and while it doesn’t feel good to ask - we see no other way at the moment. We want to be transparent with what we did with the last funding we received and what future costs we have to cover.

This is what the last funding’s has covered and what we also expect to have to keep on paying during spring 2021:

-Taxes.
-Salary for essential staff: bookkeeper, booking staff, manager in Sapa. Total 3 people. (20% of their normal pay).
-Salary for receptionist in Sapa office (4h/day).
-Sapa Office rent (We have negotiated the rent down to 70% for 2020).
-Cost for Sapa Office, water/electricity/internet.
-Homestay rent, 1-year (May).
-Hanoi office (We have now closed our office in Hanoi but still pay for storage).
-Fixed costs for guides.
-Websites/ e-mail service/booking platform/Ads (We have now stopped our all ads).
-Hospital bills for guides and their children, including travels to Hanoi.
-Support money for guide who lost her child.
-Social insurance. (We have postponed the payment of social insurance during 2020 but it’s soon time to pay and it’s a big post, almost 9000USD).

On the plus side we still have at least a few treks every month! Our office stays open a few hours a day and we have staff answering emails and helps with online bookings. For a while now Vietnam has zero reported cases of Covid-19. People who travel into the country are quarantined 14 days but once you are in you can now move freely.

Sapa Sisters is also one out of only two companies in Sapa who has received government corona-support for our staff. Most of our guides were recently able to receive a one-time payment to their personal bank accounts. We are very happy that our application finally went through!

We are very grateful for all the help and every dollar we can get! Please help us by sharing our campaign throughout your social media, or book a trek with us in the future.

Thank you and stay safe!❤️

It’s with the deepest sadness we share the news that our fantastic Sapa Sister Mao has lost her son, Thào A Duy. He passed away 3 night ago at Sapa hospital, from acute pneumonia. He was only 3 years old.

All our thoughts and love goes to Mao and her family in this terrible time.

If any friends of Mao want to support her, send Sapa Sisters a message here on Facebook and we will forward you Mao’s paypal-address.

Still far from normal but Sapa Sisters keep on trekking in Sapa and Ha Giang!

For all of you who spending your summer vacation in Vietnam, come and let us guide you through the mountains. Right now, the rice terraces are still all green but soon they turn golden, ready to be harvest. It’s unusually peaceful up here, almost no tourists and very little traffic.

Our office and homestay are still closed but our booking team is quick to answer booking requests, arrange guides, transportation and everything else needed for a mountain excursion. You can reach us best by email [email protected] or call our booking manager Ms. Linh 0904567985. You can also book your tour directly on our website www.sapasisters.com

Domestic flights and busses are running as normal. From 9th of July, the trains between Lao Cai and Hanoi also starts going again.

International travelers will have to wait until 16th of September until the international airlines start flying to Vietnam again.

Hello all Fantastic People!

All Sapa Sisters just want to say a big THANK YOU for all the love and support we have received the last weeks. The response on our crowdfunding campaign has been amazing. We don’t know how long until we can open up for business again, but thanks to you, Sapa Sisters will be able to stay afloat.

We are so very happy for your help!

We wish you all the best, that you stay healthy and well, and that we someday see each other in the mountains again!

XOXO

A big THANK YOU! to all of you who have already support our campaign!!!

I was thinking that there are many of you friends out there who have not been trekking with us during the last 2 years, then you have not visit our new Sapa office!

Since spring 2018 we have our own house in Sapa center. Our headquarters. Here we have our breakfast restaurant, several showers and bathrooms for our arriving guests, luggage room, information counter where customers can book treks and transportation or just ask for advice. This is where the guides and travelers meet to begin their treks. We have invested lots of money to renovate the house to fit Sapa Sisters needs and the office has become the heart of our business.

To rent a space in Sapa is not cheap and even if we got friendship-price the monthly cost is a big burden at the moment.
