13-Year-Old Peter Dies a Hero After Saving His Family

Tragedy struck on Tuesday, December 17, when young Peter Morris David, only 13 years old, died after saving his family in the aftermath of a powerful earthquake that shook Port Vila.

Peter had traveled to town with his family for Christmas shopping, unaware that it would be their last day together.

Around 12:47 PM, as the quake hit, Peter became separated from his father and sister. He was trapped inside the collapsed Billabong building with his mother and another sister. Despite being pinned under a cement block, Peter found the strength and courage to contact his father.

Through the phone, Peter calmly relayed the situation, giving detailed updates on those trapped inside. His composure and quick thinking guided rescuers to locate and save his mother and sister.

Throughout the ordeal, Peter’s selflessness remained evident. Even as his own injuries worsened, he continued reporting the condition of his family members, putting their safety ahead of his own. Tragically, Peter could not survive his injuries, passing away before he could be reunited with his father. His final words expressed a longing to see his dad once more.

Peter's body was returned to his village of Utanlang, Nguna, on Thursday night, where the community honored him as a hero. His bravery and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Peter. You will always be remembered as a true hero.

Visible Fault Line Causes Uplift in Port Vila CBD

A significant uplift in the Port Vila CBD caused by the recent earthquake has left a visible fault line running from the seafront, through Centre Point Station, across Centre Point parking, and extending up to the National Bank of Vanuatu.

Buildings along this line show clear signs of structural stress, with some appearing tilted or defaced, reflecting the fault's irregular shape.

Authorities are currently assessing the damage to determine the safety and stability of these structures.

We are very passionate about our work and we always make sure we deliver quality and efficient services to our discerning guests.

In the past during overnight stay especially with the , we found out that most guests are missing out on their morning tours when pre-booked directly through a local operator. WHY???
1. When you don't have a priority ticket, you'll have to wait for your ticket color/no. to be called.
2. At times, the tender process is very slow. Tour Operators can't wait for you because other guests who arrived early, do complain of losing much time (totally understandable) thus; they will have to leave without you.

For this reason, we have decided to operate some afternoon tours to help avoid this from happening to you.

You chose "Design your own itinerary". During our chat before your arrival, you never said anything about your daughter being disabled. I clearly mentioned I cannot operate this tour unless you find another 2 to operate, to which you did.
On arrival, you told me about your daughter. Yes, I told you I will arrange for another driver to pick you up after your horse riding tour. I was at the blue lagoon, when the driver called me.

QUESTION TO YOU.

1. If I were to refund you, how do I pay for the first driver you were with? Do I just pay for your horse riding tour and refund you all?
2. The second driver, do I pay him out of my pocket?

The reason I asked you to find another two, is so I can pay for your entries plus cover for your transportation cost.
I did you a favor even when I know I won't have anything at the end, but still.

Just so you know, you were the second guest who gave us this bad review out of 1000's who have been using our service.
