Here's an update on the relocation of the fruit and vegetable markets, as well as the availability of handicraft markets around Port Vila. These essential services can now be accessed at the following locations:

Fruit & Vegetable Markets:

- Manples Market & Fish Market (next to Au Bon Marche Manples)
- Seaside Market (opposite Retreat Seaside)
- Korman Market (next to Au Bon Marche Supermarket, Korman)
- Freshwater 1 Market (opposite Au Bon Marche Freshwater)
- Freshwater 2 Market (at Freshwater Park)
- Freshwater 3 Market (opposite Living Water Church)

There are also trucks driving around daily at various areas with fresh produce to sell to members of the public.

Although the Handicraft Market in town is currently closed, there are several alternative locations where you can purchase local handicraft products:

- Port Vila Mamas Handicraft Market known as Centre Point (opposite the Ministry of Health, behind Tropical Market)
- Saralana Park
- Freshwater Stadium
- Bellevue Handicraft
- Korman (opposite Port Vila International School)
- Imperial (next to La Parisienne Bakery)
- Manples (next to the Fish & Veggie Market)

These places are easily accessible by bus or taxi, making it convenient for everyone to shop for fresh produce and unique local crafts.

John Frum Event

This event is a ritual that celebrates this prominent mythical figure - John Frum. Featuring men performing a military drill and custom dances with wooden guns, Sulphur Bay and Lamakara Village is home to this event.

The Vanuatu Travel Information Center has commenced its efforts to assist visitors and locals in Port Vila to provide information, travel advice & planning and booking services as more local operators are relocating and reopening their businesses.

A group of VTIC ambassadors was stationed at the Port Vila international airport today 10th of January 2025. Tomorrow two more ambassador groups will be stationed at Tana russet and Asco motors respectively. You can identify our lovely ambassadors with a VTIC blue polo shirt and a yellow vest.

Our ambassadors will assist with any tours, accomodations and activity related questions that anyone may have. Do not hesitate to speak to them when you see them in town.
