Ali from Iran via New Zealand!

Ali was most impressed by our commitment to showcase the smaller Tourism operators that have very little to zero online presence; and over a few coffees we had a great chat covering everything from Çay in Turkey, sustainable practices in Tourism, and the origins of Backgammon... in Ali's hometown!

It's going to be HUGE!!

Samoa’s international borders reopened for tourists on August 1, and partner, BookingSamoa were ready, with an updated online booking platform and a new physical booking hub in Apia.

“Samoan tourism has been ready and waiting for this! We are so excited to start welcoming tourists back to this beautiful country. For BookingSamoa, we can’t wait to be back connecting international visitors with Samoa’s incredible smaller and lesser-known tourism offerings,” says BookingSamoa Chief Operating Officer, Geoff Cullen.

“For so long, it has been really hard for micro, small and medium-sized tourism businesses, particularly those outside of Apia, to compete with the larger operators – especially when it comes to online marketing and bookings. We are hoping to change that, with a visible, online presence and a physical booking hub in Apia dedicated to representing these businesses.”

Through BookingSamoa, tourists are able to book accommodation in Samoa, including beach fales and ecolodges, as well as a range of activities, tours, and rental cars. Tourists can also book transfers to help them get to some of BookingSamoa’s farther flung destinations, as well as those closer to the airport.

The borders may be closed but the Samoa International Game Fishing Association's (SIGFA) 24th International Game Fishing Tournament was a huge success.
This year saw the most local boats ever entered (19) and we look forward to next year when both local and International teams mix it up at this awesome event!

BookingSamoa is a recently formed startup focusing on delivering solutions to the Samoan Tourism sector through the development of our booking platform and software solutions.

Our focus is firmly on Samoa, while at the same time rolling out our platform in other parts of the Pacific and elsewhere. During the next two years we have a significant development schedule to further strengthen our offering to tourism operators.

We are currently looking for a;

Graphic Designer

We understand the limited opportunities in Samoa for young people to gain experience in a commercial design environment, so we are looking for someone who has design skills that overcome the lack of commercial experience to join our growing team in Apia.

BookingSamoa consists of a small Marketing and Customer Service team and a small Software Development team that concentrates on both web and mobile platforms. We are pretty tidy developers, but know our limitations as designers.

If successful, you will work primarily as part of the development team, building exciting and practical User Interfaces for our platforms, as well as providing design services to support our Marketing and Customer Service efforts. You will primarily be responsible for the overall look and feel of BookingSamoa.

To successfully secure this position, you will need to demonstrate;
* the core skills of a designer
* Some past efforts to perform design activities
* Basic graphic design software skills
* A desire to make this role the start of your career
