We're Back!

After cancelling last year's festivities due to the pandemic, we are holding:

COPL Spring Pig Ice Day on Saturday 26 February on the shores of Crossing-Over-Pig-Lake at 0700!

We send Clarence, our town Ice Pig, onto Crossing-Over-Pig-Lake at sunrise If Clarence makes it across, we're going to have six more weeks of winter. If he disappears half way across (which usually means he's fallen through the ice), we're going to have an early spring. Not to mention a pig roast that evening-if we find Clarence.

This year's Clarence is supplied by Bill and Carol Orgensson, owners of the local Peeved Mart farm supply depot.

New this year: at 0800 the COPL ice-dip for Charity will occur. Register at the town office. All proceeds to will go to NeedyBabies -COPL Chapter.

No "freedom" truck convoys, please. We are perfectly free as we are!

Still trying to twin with Dog River. No response. I guess we are too sophisticated. Maybe we should try Wullerton.

COPL COVID notice

With the increase of the Omicron-prime variant, the Crossing-Over-Pig-Lake and District Memorial Museum (and Chain-Saw Rental) will not be re-opening until it is safe to do so. There are too many other essential services that require attention before we can justify our opening to the public.

Like many small towns in Manitoba, COPL Streets are empty these days. Rest assured the Mayor and Council are still taking care of business during the Pandemic. Stay home and stay safe!

Just so you know, COPL is now closed to out-of-towners as we battle the Pandemic. We have no cases and want to keep it that way.🤨
