Following a painstakingly-selective search in already established neighborhoods, we buy existing homes we feel possess an incredible amount of "unrealized" potential, then proceed to remodel and customize each of them with all the fabulous features and finishes found in today's brand-new homes. Specific areas we address with our renovations include installing new: Flooring (hardwood, ceramic, wall-to-wall carpeting); State-of-the-art kitchens with upscale cabinetry, granite counters, and stainless steel appliances; Beautiful baths with new vanities, plumbing fixtures and hardware, ceramic tile tub/shower surrounds, lighting, and more. On some of our homes, we move walls and doors to improve functionality and flow, on others we finish basements, expand storage areas, build decks and patios, landscape, and more. OUR HISTORY & EXPERIENCE
The Mehlman name has been synonymous with building and real estate for more than 40 years. Mehlman's career began more than four decades ago when he was in business with his father, a real estate investor. Together, they purchased, remodeled, and resold anywhere from 150 to 200 homes a year throughout the City of St. Following his father's retirement in 1976, Mark took the company's reigns and continued its fast-paced evolution. During the early 1990's, Mark focused on crafting award-winning, one-of-a-kind custom homes in the $1 million to $2 million range in Olivette, Kirkwood, Creve Coeur, Clayton, and University City. Seeking to increase inventory and product selections, in the year 2000, Mark began introducing a series of successful masterplanned communities featuring luxury "maintenance-provided" homestyles. These projects included Castle Gate Villas, Forsyth Place, The Villas at Fountain Place, Delmonico, and The Parkdale. Then in late 2006, he developed The Crescent, a magnificent landmark mid-rise featuring 72 spectacular condominium residences next to The Ritz-Carlton in Clayton. A couple of years ago, Mark wanted two of his sons, Scott and Blair, to join the family enterprise, however, he first had to convince them to leave their real estate positions in Denver, Colorado and Chicago, Illinois, respectively. Both now play key roles in day-to-day operations from property acquisitions and construction management to sales and customer service. Shortly thereafter, the Mehlman team decided to revisit the company's original business model which, of course, was purchasing existing homes and transforming them into their distinctive brand of "Designer Pre-Owned Homes You Can Afford To Love".
